DKDKTV thread
So dkdktv a yt channel that became popular by doing kpop reactions have been accumulating bad karma around BTS/Army. So let's do a little review.
June, 2019. They made a video titled "YG mediaplay exposed?" where they made a review of an article exposing several years of receipts on YG media play published by Allkpop. And condescendingly justifying most of YG dirty tactics as "marketing".
July, 2019. Danny Kim. Made a video featuring Tamar Herman "journalist" from Billboard to a podcast titled "The future of kpop and BTS" where they dedicated 1:32 minutes to criticize BTS success in the west and blame the failure of other bg and gg on BTS's success.
Tey dedicated a long section to criticize BTS media coverage and called it exhausting. Paradoxical coming from 2 people who literally make money out of BTS. "People are exhausted for getting so much exposure to BTS, I do feel like we need some fresh faces in the industry" -Danny
Even after actually admitting their financial dependency on BTS's continuity. " I want more BTS so that I can sustain my channel, I'll be effin honest with you." -Danny
That's why they're pushing the kpop agenda so much. They're aware of the fact without BTS, kpop is nothing.
"BTS takes a big portion of the narket here... so, them going away for 2 years would really greatly effect the k-pop industry as a whole."
"I think there's a little bit of exhaustion from BTS People are bored of getting so much exposure to bts (...) yet I feel like there is exhaustion from the consumer pov with it being just bts I do fee like we need some fresh faces in this industry. " Danny.
While this was unfolding Danny was actually replying to live comments and here's a taste of how he handled criticism.
Of course he then went to twitter just to flex on it?
David Kim went to twitter and YouTube to apologize and explain his position. But then again it turned into a monologue justifying Danny's right to have an "opinion" and tell his followers to reconsider unsubscribing. 🙄
Of course he is going to take a break. That's what they all do. Don't they?
Ok, some more live chat comments from the video that I forgot to add.
What really happened with this video is, it was never actually released. He set a "premiere" to start at 2:30pm KST, but even before it aired the dislike count reached 7k vs 1k likes.
The video is still there, but comments are disabled. They sure do care a lot about views but not about feedback.
Here's the latest update on this situation "apology included". Watch the whole video in that thread. https://twitter.com/__gaciria/status/1156635386334068741?s=09
I was just reading this, and I forgot to add these to the thread. That took place like a day after he said he was going to "take a break".
Who is still following them? For real... https://twitter.com/firstloveot7/status/1323438048663597056
