In 2013 South Korean President-elect Park Geun-hye came under hot water for nominating Kim Jeong-hun as Minister of Future Creation & Science, although he had worked for the US CIA, serving as a director for In-Q-Tel, and participating in 2009 as an advisory committee member.

Kim withdrew his name for the nomination to be the South Korean Ministerof Future Creation and Science. Ironically, the same year he stepped down as President of Nokia Bell Labs.

The Ministery post Kim ultimately did not accept in South Korea, was apparently created as an investment in executive structure within the official bureaucracy to support ICT (information and communications technology) development.

I mentioned Jeong Kim was also President of Bell Labs. In 2014 it was still owned by Alcatel-Lucent. In 2016 they were acquired by Nokia.

As noted Alcatel is a French Telecomm conglomerate. Lucent was created when AT&T spun off most of AT&T Bell Labs and it’s equipment manufacturer business Western Electric.
Effective January 1, 1984, the Bell System’s many member companies were variously merged into seven independent or "Baby Bells".
AT&T retained control of Western Electric, Yellow Pages, the Bell trademark, Bell Labs, and AT&T Long Distance.
