Thread on Christina Aguilera being one of the most unlikeable & problematic celebrities of her time
Christina Aguilera has earned her place as one of the biggest culture vultures in Hollywood. She’s appropriated multiple cultures - most notably African American, Indian and Japanese culture.
When Aguilera began her career in 1999, she was one of the many Britney Spears clones at the time. She had blonde hair, pale skin, blue eyes & sang catchy bubblegum pop tunes.
Shortly after, and despite being a blue eyed, privileged white woman who grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Aguilera began cosplaying as a black woman. Can you say Rachel Dolezal of the 2000s?

But Aguilera’s problematic ways go beyond racism and cultural appropriation, and there’s much more to come
In 2004, Aguilera played in an extremely transphobic skit on Saturday Night Live and even used a very offensive slur
Four years later in 2008, Aguilera made comments with transphobic undertones, quoting ‘I don't know if it is a man or a woman’ when referring to Lady Gaga.
Aguilera made light of Mariah Carey’s mental health and hospitalization, quoting ‘But it was at that time that she had that breakdown, so she might have been very medicated.’ Here’s what Mariah Carey had to say about her:
Video footage of Aguilera sexualizing Britney Spears & comparing her to a blow up doll in front of thousands of people. Very feminist of her!
Aguilera’s attitude problem was out of control in the 2000s and she was notorious for attacking her peers. In 2003, she told Blender Magazine that ‘Britney and Beyonce are fake’ and ‘desperate to come across as sweet, good little girls’.
Aguilera fat shamed Kelly Osbourne for years. Karma got its kiss for her, as she would eventually become a victim of fat shaming herself.
Mary J. Blige on Aguilera: 'I don’t like her because she has a nasty attitude. I was trying to greet her properly and she stuck her hand out at me for me to kiss it. Britney Spears can’t sing like you, but she will go farther because she knows how to respect & treat her people.'
Westlife star Kian Egan dissed Aguilera, branding her the "nastiest" and "ugliest" person he has ever met.
The Wanted also dissed Aguilera, branding her as one of the "rudest people they've ever met".
"Mean Girls" star Daniel Franzese exposed Aguilera as a real-life mean girl.

"I was like, "Christina, my name's Daniel. I sing 'Beautiful' in 'Mean Girls.' And she was like, "Never saw it." And then turned her back and walked away. She was so rude."
Avril Lavigne also had a terrible experience with Aguilera, calling her "really mean."

"Boy George was super nice to me...unlike Christina, who was really mean to me when I said 'hi' to her."
Celebrity photographer Rankin Waddell branded Aguilera as the "most nasty celebrity" he has ever worked with.

“She is a really horrible, nasty person and I would never work with her again.” Why? “Because she’s not nice. She’s just not a nice person."
Valerie Bertinelli called out Aguilera for being obnoxiously rude

"I was a fan at that time, and I went up to her and said, 'I think you're a beautiful singer.' And she's just said, "Ugh, yeah, whatever."
Aguilera is notorious for treating her staff like dirt, and many of them have come forward to expose her.

"Aguilera is incredibly rude and demanding and treats her household staff terribly, insisting that they be on call 24/7"
Aguilera shading Madonna in 2003 after performing with her VMAs

"Maybe Madonna, 10 years ago, maybe, but now?"
In early 2000s, Aguilera assaulted Britney Spears at a club, kissing her without consent. "She put her tongue down my throat", said Britney.
Britney Spears was a constant target of Aguilera’s jealousy and insecurities. Aguilera would usually drag her out of nowhere and for no reason.

In 2011, Aguilera and her husband were arrested for ‘public intoxication’ and ‘driving under the influence’.
2010: Aguilera throwing gum at her fans in the audience
In 2015, Aguilera shaded Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez for doing Vegas. Four years later in 2019, she followed their footsteps but the difference is that her show is absolutely flopping.
Wendy Williams making fun of Aguilera's blaccent
Here's a video of Britney addressing Xtina's shady comments. She clocked her in such a classy way. This is what a CLASS act does.
Since some people are claiming these quotes are fake, here’s a video of Avril Lavigne saying Aguilera was really mean to her. This was as recently as 2011 btw.
In 2014, Aguilera had a feud with...Mickey Mouse 😭😭😭 This entitled woman was bothered she was not given special treatment so she insulted the poor guy
Even though they've made amends since then, Aguilera had a feud with P!nk in the early-mid 2000s as she demanded to sing the most lines on "Lady Marmalade". She also swung at P!nk at a club.
To the Aguilera fans trying to drag Britney Spears for cultural appropriation:

Britney was gifted the hanbok by a traditional Korean dress designer. It’s actually a beautiful story. She has never had a photoshoot using props and dressed by white people, unlike others.
