Wimbledon is over. But what a lens on life:

1) It's non linear. Win 20% of your points and you'll barely make a game. But every point of probability you can squeeze out above 50% will improve your chances of winning the game disproportionately. Small improvements amplify.
2) And that non-linearity scales up. Grand-slam tennis, wealth distribution, movie box-office success: Winner-take-all is everywhere. https://twitter.com/arampell/status/1149132348744749056
3) Not all points are equally important. Those two match points Djokovic saved today, pretty important. Like in other walks of life, some points are worth fighting over more than others.
4) And the role of form? The data shows that the very best players take each point as it comes. Amateurs by contrast dwell more on the past and that can influence their game.
