Changes to the cycle lanes outside Homebase. Looks like the opportunity to physically stop motor traffic using this as a cut-through has been lost. No no-entry signs any more either. Previous layout: https://www.cyclestreets.net/location/38039/ ">https://www.cyclestreets.net/location/... @camcycle
New signage being installed this morning at the Newmarket Rd, Cambridge, retail park suggests the car park is to become a through road for motor vehicles. It’s also, a major formal cycle route. Dangerous. Local cllrs include @hafdavies and @cllr_r_johnson cc @camcycle @Cambslive

Photos of the area outside Homebase now the recent work looks complete. It appears through traffic is now being permitted. (The “turn right” sign looks like a remnant from the previous arrangement). It looks as if the original planning application was C/02/0136 and a condition was attached when permission was granted requiring the prevention of motor vehicles other than authorised buses from being able to travel through the site. https://idox.cambridge.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=ZZZZZ5DXXC797">https://idox.cambridge.gov.uk/online-ap... @leishman_fiona
