A few thoughts on the recent cynicism I see on out side : Ever since the breakout of coordinated riots & skirmishes across India to destabilize the normalcy in day-to-day lives of citizens, I've been a witness to rising self-flagellation by Eminent Hindu Twitteratii. (1/n)
So, let me take back to 2003. It was just a year after the Godhra riots. CM Modi was addressing a CII meet of investors & foreign dignitaries for investment in Gujarat. Then, an academic-cum-journalist Jairus Banaji, who now teaches at SOAS London & often writes diatribes(2/n)
against Modi & Hindutva in Leftist journals like EPW & Frontline, accosted him publicly on Godhra & sloganeered against him with abuses, only to be taken down by the security for creating ruckus. The hall was stunned to silence & perhaps, in Modern Indian History post(3/n)
1947, for the first time, a sitting CM was embarrassed in front of foreign delegates. CII authorities were caught in a fix & they even had to issue statements to cool down the issue. In those years, unlike today, journalists yielded quite a lot of powers, because social media(4/n)
hadn't arrived yet to put a check on their claims. What was the outcome of all this ruckus & media bytes? Gujarat was demonised as the new Nazi Germany & all major companies were skeptical of investing in Gujarat, thereby, making the state a pariah. Such was the venal &(5/n)
vicious media trial of Modi that it was Gujarat that suffered. Fast forward to 2005, in another CII meeting, Bajaj publicly admonished Modi with Modi sharing the dais. This constant vilification of Modi had reached its crescendo & it was then when Modi invoked the Gujrati (6/n)
pride & many Gujrati industrialists backed him saying that vilification of Gujarat must end to start a new beginning. Eventually, CII officials personally flied down to Ahmedabad & apologised Modi & things calmed down, though the media trial by Barkha, NDTV & Rajdeep (7/n)
continued shamelessly.

Why did I bring these 2 incidents? Because while Modi was the victim, there was another stakeholder that suffered collateral damage : Gujarat & its entrepreneurs. It was then when Modi changed his governance style to more of a "time-bound delivery"-(8/n)
style, be the street smartness in inviting Tata from WB or relaxation of norms in land acquisition because of which Gujarat became one of the states with best norms for starting a business: An entrepreneur's dreamland.

So, why have I brought them into the discussion?( 9/n)
Because to understand the present, u need to know the past.

Let's do a short analysis of the recent trend of riots. Who will benefit from the riots?

[1] BJP : No, because right now, they already a significant mandate cutting across Hindu spectrum
[2] U-know-who's : Yes,(10/n)
because in India, in case of a riot, irrespective of the ratio in death toll tilting against/in favour of u-know-who's, the English Media & its associates in the West have a defacto template : "U-know-who's in Danger", accompanied with a multi-course meal, ranging from (11/n)
demonization of Hindus to guilt-tripping them at the expense of U-know-who's, along with donations across the world & a possible UN interference.
[3] Ex-Gods in the Lutyens Pantheon: Trust me, a lot of "eminent" people desperately want "Old India" & a riot may just open (12/n)
up the window of opportunity for them.
[4] Congress: To be honest, Congress won't benefit electorally with a riot, BUT, they will piggyback on it to stitch a coalition of secular parties which they didn't do in 2019 & perhaps, grow shriller in its attack against the Govt.(13/n)
[5] Hindus & its friendly minorities : They will bear the collateral damage.

In short, a riot is the perfect opportunity for the Media & the "defeated" Lot to retaliate. So, in such cases, it is extremely important to keep in mind the possible consequences before jumping (14/n)
into haste. Internet Hindus often ridicule Fadnavis as a Dhimmi nincompoop because some schools got closed due to RTE, which in many cases, is due to other reasons like non-compliance with norms; but won't credit him for the way he handled the Bhima Koregaon violence.(15/n)
Because Fadnavis approached with a calm head, today, the nexus of Urban naxals is out in the open & it doesn't matter if the case is won or lost, but the real agenda has been won : to expose the clandestine Urban Naxals in our midst. Today, people are skeptical of activists(16/n)
& NGOs. Doubt me? I know someone who worked at Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan under Aruna Roy & he admitted that post 2015, life has become difficult for NGOs, because not just funds have dried out, but also, it has become difficult for them to convince people to attend (17/n)
their protests & rallies, except in TN & Kerala. In recent cases, be in Surat or Delhi or Dehradun, there has been a strong retaliation, as arrests have been made & a situation that could have escalated further has been ameliorated. There is also a famous trend of asking (18/n)
the question:Why has Maulana Modi or his HM not speaking on the riots? [1] Action matters, not tweets. Enough action has been taken already. [2] Media raises questions, & the response has to be in accordance with them. So, it is the media that needs to be held accountable (19/n)
because it is the Media that creates the "Mahaul". [3] Gujarat didn't have riots for 15 yrs, because, criminals were "disposed off" without media attention. While Media continued to attack Modi, they didn't realize that criminals were being eliminated at a rate that (20/n)
they couldn't even fathom, until the Ishrat Jahan case. So, next time, u jump on to ask Amit Shah's resignation just because he didn't tweet on "violence against Hindus" to satiate ur myopic outrage, have an introspection with a calm head.

Dark days are ahead. (21/n)
A riot is the best way to guilt-trip the Modi Govt with international media vilification & stop them from pursuing Islamo-centric issues : the biggest being Article 370. Oh yes, Article 370 can't be abrogated over night. Ground has to be prepared. So, to those who (22/n)
are ridiculing his "Chanakyaneeti" with a scoff, my 2 cents : Will u take any responsibility for the post-370 Abrogation situation across India ? What I see is that ground is being prepared : Abdullahs & Muftis are behaving like wet cats with the J&K Bank scam & Hurriyat is(23/n)
now resorting to Taqqiya by involving celebrity KPs on rent, who in my eyes, are the biggest traitor to the genuine plight of KP exodus.

And Lastly, Arab Spring didn't start overnight. It was executed to engineer regime changes. The pattern was same : Govt attacked a few (24/n)
protestors & then, anarchy was sold as "fight for democracy" to topple the stable regimes of "dictators".

So, yeah, every action matters. And I trust my Govt. Think before shaming them for Social Media bravado!
