Whenever I see a founder feeling down and beaten, I love sharing the story of Batman with them.
And by Batman, I mean the story of the Boy who saved Batman.

I heard this three years ago but kept coming back to it because it’s so incredible. 🤯 Thread! 1/9
Jan 1966 : 14 yr old Michael Uslan saw the first batman TV show. He has a big fan of the comics & couldn’t bear to see the show.
Batman was supposed to be dark and gritty, instead everyone was laughing at this.
He swore - one day he would make the world see the true Batman. 2/9
Some years later, in college, being the crazy comic book fan he was, he somehow convinced his dean to let him teach an accredited college course on Comic books!
He anonymously tipped off the media and it become a national outrage - Tax money was being spent on comics! 3/9
But DC comics heard of this crazy college student/professor teaching a comic book course, and contacted him to come work for them‼️

Just a college student, Michel got himself a job actually writing the Batman comics! 4/9
By Age 26, he was now itching to fulfil the vow he swore as a 14 year old.
He went up to DC and told them he wants to buy the rights to make a Batman movie...

They thought he is either crazy or stupid. After the show had tanked, no studio wanted to touch Batman. 5/9
But Michel believed. Besides, no one else in the world was crazy enough to buy them.
Let me repeat - NO ONE IN THE WORLD WANTED TO BUY THE RIGHTS TO MAKE BATMAN.

So DC sold him the rights for peanuts. 🤷‍♂️ 6/9
It took him TEN more years to pitch every single studio in hollywood, to make a dark & serious Batman movie.
He finally got Tim Burton to direct it in 1989 and the rest as they say is History!
Till date - every single Batman movie lists Michel Uslan as an Exec Producer 😃

So you may be young, weird, penniless, and no one might agree with what you are doing - but you may just be the hero the world deserves 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️
It's hard, but Stay the course 😄 8/9
This really blew up! 😀
Here's a Michael telling his story better than I ever could!
Thanks for the bump @HoeZaay 😁
