I picked Pulgar out pre-tournament as Chile's player to watch in this #CopaAmerica. He has matured a lot as a player in Italy in the past year and is finally fulfilling his potential at 25. He was the key to Chile suffocating Colombia for much of the game last night.

(I admit I'm mainly pointing this out as much of the Chilean media were so obsessed with the absence of Marcelo Diaz that they had no idea how good Pulgar was becoming and some even questioned his place in the team/squad)

I wrote Pulgar off a few years ago TBH, I didn't think he would mature especially given how unpopular he is in his hometown of Antofagasta after some nightclub incidents and the infamous fatal hit and run back when he was just 18yrs old. He was lucky to get off that so lightly.
