1. Safety, Health Officers (SHO)
Okay this one of the demanding career. And under Safety, Health, Environment department, besides SHO banyak je job opportunities lain. Waste Management, Energy Consumption, Environmental Officer, as well as Risk And Compliance Unit.

To discern yourself from others, boleh ambil related license from NIOSH. Standard ones are Green Book, OSH license, kalau minat chemicals boleh ambil CHRA.
With these license, your job choice will expand accordingly. And you’ll be paid by project. Aku bagi contoh ea,

Dekat lab sekolah korang ada fume chamber kan. Fume chamber ni kena service every (2/5) years. Aku tak ingat. And you’ll be paid PER chambers. Satu sekolah ada berapa? Ada berapa banyak sekolah. Uni lagi, industry lagi. Tapi orang yang ada license tak ramai.

This one untuk every project baru kena ada. Contoh, nak buka kawasan baru, pembinaan, pembangunan, apa2 projek pon akan bagi kesan pada alam sekitar kan. So kena buat EIA.

Briefly, we’ll work as consultant. We’ll complete a report and decide whether the project pass or fail. Kalau fail tapi nak teruskan juga, then we’ll have to come out with plans to reduce the impact on environment.

This one is my personal favorite. I took this as an elective, turns out there are even more job opportunities under this field. GIS is the program used to process satellite images into something more applicable.

With GIS, you can help design roads, train tracks, where to build..

You can predict erosions, flood affected area. And hence, count expected loss. The economist would want you too.

This one gave me goosebumps. With correct formula and programming, you can use GIS for anything. For agriculture, you can combine maps of soil type, terrain, crop yield and derive a Prescription Map. Of which you can decide which part of the field–

need more fertilizers. Maknanya, you can save money. Before, orang apply baja sama banyak to the whole field. Now with the help of GIS, they’ll know which trees need more fertilizer. They managed to save millions on fertilizers, tapi hasil lagi banyak.

Remote sensing can detect pollution in river, river plume, and even microplastics. With GIS, you can map and detect the source as well as the flow of the pollution.

okay sebab sem ni aku baru habis belajar EIA ngan OSH, aku nak update. EIA ni ada 21 prescribed activities yang perlukan EIA. and selalunya developer akan cuba elak, sebab cost dia mahal. tapi kalau tak dapat elak, memang kena buat juga EIA ni. EIA perlukan orang dari byk bidang
sebab kalau nak buat jalan contohnya, tanah, air, udara, bunyi, flora, fauna semua akan terkesan. so masa EIA ni banyak kepakaran diperlukan. and honestly, aku cam minat nak pursue field ni, sebab kerja tak bosan, setiap project lain2. and boleh direct apply knowledge.
