The issue starts off with an #EXO L attending the Universe fansign which was held on 30th December. She approached Baekhyun, her bias and told him that she suffers from clinical depression and would like to hear some positive comments from him, so Baekhyun did.
When the fan said that she has depression Baekhyun replied sincerely that “Depression? I don’t know what it’s like because I’ve never experienced it but I hope I can comfort you.”

However on 31st December an acc appeared on twt which went by BBH_Depression which stated a very diff story of what was stated in the original video shared by OP, it stated that” I don’t know why people get depression and insomnia” which is a HUGE gap from what was stated earlier
As soon as this came up it broke out in kmedia, “netizens” as they are called... decided to act as the Statue of Liberty and deliver a very hard hitting conclusion on his character. Damage was done.

When the Ls saw it they contacted the fanbases and demanded an explanation
Within a few min korean speakers and exols explained the situation to the acc. They emphasised heavily on the fact that they are wording it differently than what he had actually stated in the audio

This greatly angered a lot of ppl who demanded an apology from the acc who went private and later posted this below. She admitted she didn't translate the full thing but still refused to apologize.

As a result we trended #WeLoveYouBaekhyun which trended. We used the # to post messages of trust and love for him.
However soon a new account was pulled into the drama. Apparently the video that was translated by JHSMLXTAPE was an edited one and she received it from null_hxh :)

Also null_hxh posted the 1st pic after Bbh had apologized sparking a growing suspicion among the ppl if she was really responsible or not.

Yet another account vlissful decided to start posting a thread about the entire scandal. She was allegedly the same translator who was responsible for the Wanna One EXO fiasco.

So this obviously raises a few questions
First of all WHY did those acc translate the audio? I did not see any other fanbase do it. big accounts going out of their way to search up an audio from an EXO fansign, edit it and then translate it according to their own terms.

Let’s say we give them the benefit of the doubt, we consider that they were genuinely triggered by this entire conversation and wanted to speak out about it, but did why did they not contact the other fanbases or other exo ls to verify the situation?
If let’s say they received an edited vid n made a mistake about this entire situation, then obviously now that the entire audio is floating around the internet they have heard it all so why aren’t they posting any follow up tweets to inform their followers that it was a mistake?
Why are they posting a screencap of him/her downvoting all the positive comments about Bbh on naver/pann/osen way later after clarifications were out?
After the full video was spread articles started the change their headlines and many others were taken down.
