Becoming a plant mama šŸ’ƒšŸ½
Some of my first plants. From 2017. All the others died or got missing or destroyed.
Then I got these some time this year to celebrate a win. I travelled for a couple of days and came back to a dead plant [3rd frame].
Was admiring this so much at a restaurant that the manager said I could leave with itšŸ’ƒšŸ½
Got these from different places and DIY repotted. Hoping they thrive.
Got a succulent and a cactus today.
Succulent šŸŒ±
Another mini DIY repotting of a šŸŒµ from yesterday. First time is seeing this type.
Iā€™ve gone down the Youtube rabbit hole sooo many times in the last couple of days, trying to take in everything I can about houseplants to be interested enough in propagation. And Iā€™m giving it a try
So much gel.
A little color ainā€™t hurt nobody. Letā€™s welcome to the family this beautiful Oxalis Triangularis. This beauty closes like an umbrella at night and when disturbed.
Danish Crown Sansevieria aka Snake Plant aka Mother In-laws Tongue. Particularly excited for the growth of this beauty.
I decided to bring my succulent to work. To give my table some green. I just noticed that a leaf had fallen off and dry/soil propagated itself and it has new bud/bloom + roots grow out and Iā€™m not sure what to do with it.

But super excited.
The baby succulent is doing wellllll #plantmama . Trying to see how many more babies the leaves can make.
The cactus potter is growing oxalis (?). Iā€™m not sure how/why that is happening but Iā€™m hereeeee for it!
This [former] big guy is, well, whatever it is now and Iā€™m not sure what the problem is. Itā€™s taller, but keeps looking weak and yellow and shedding. These are newer leaves on it. Itā€™s so sad.
Got a Pothos and Coleus today šŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
I thought I got a Golden Pothos. But YouTube is telling me itā€™s a Marble Queen Pothos. I also just learnt about a new variety - Satin Pothos. And I want ittttt
Coleus šŸ˜
Marble Queen Pothos. Look at that variegation šŸ˜
You guys! As much as Iā€™m wing this #Plant mama life, Iā€™m clearly [tho almost unknowingly] doing something right. My succulent baby has had some growth. And the other leaves are growing tiny babies as well. The Ivy [elephant ear] has grown root and is ready to be potted.
Iā€™ll take pictures when thereā€™s better lighting. Stokeddddd šŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
2 weeks growth. The leaf it grew on rotted away and it rooted itself in the soil. And the other leaves we doing well as well šŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
First picture the day I started propagating. 4 weeks later, today I have these roots. Should propagated more. Iā€™ll pot this today, in shaa Allah and see how well it does.
The first 2 didnā€™t make it. But the flat cactus is also rooting sooo well. I think I should pot it.
Disposable Cups appreciation tweet.
Repotted my cacti and Oxalis into cute planters. And got 2 new plants yesterday.
#FridayBuy Ficus Elastica aka Rubber Plant. #PlantMama
#FridayBuy Philodendron [Pink Princess?] Excited to see where we can get with this one. Iā€™ll need to re pot to a smaller [more appropriate] planter. #PlantMama
For #SaturdayGardening I re potted these.
Anddd for #SundayGardening decided to break this boy down
#SundayGardening Iā€™m going to try to propagate the broken down leaves in #NestlĆ© and #CocaCola bottles šŸ˜‚
So far, this #PlantMama has
1 Peace Lily
2 Philodendron
1 Aloe Vera
1 Coleus
1 Rubber Plant
1 Oxalis
3 Cacti
1 Pothos
1 Sansevieria [Danish Crown]
2 Succulents [1 flowing and 1 rosette that Iā€™ve broken down as well]
1 Ivy with several propagation
Got ZZ leaves and Sansevieria cutting and Iā€™m going to try water and soil propagation for both.
Using these disposables to propagate
I have a haul for #FridayBuy šŸ¤øšŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
I just put half my plant on a shelf that wasnā€™t meant for holding plants and Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s too late to call the carpenter back.
#FridayBuy Pinterest says this is a Water Lettuce. I kept calling it a water Lilly šŸ˜‚ I put it in a centerpiece I have on my dining table.
#FridayBuy Anglaonema aka Chinese Evergreen. Love love the colors.
#FridayBuy Pilea aka Chinese Money Plant. Just found out this beauty made it to Harper's Bazaarā€™s most instagrammablen plant list
String of something. Not sure what this succent is called šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
#FridayBuy a flowering succulent
#FridayBuy Paddle Cactus
Newest addition. Calathea Zebrina. It has such a beautiful green color.
#fridaybuy The Calthea Compactstar
#FridayBuy Peperomia Argyreia aka watermelon peperomia. This was an accidental happy find.
All the babies are fine now. I put them out here for about 2 weeks. Watering every Friday. Propagating some. It's time to find spots for them inside the house.
6 week later šŸ’ƒšŸ¾proud #plantmama
4 weeks later and most of them have roots #plantmama
8 Weeks later. My heart is full.
I didn't get much luck with the later cuttings I got. But I've since learnt how to cut for propagation.
And my fastest rooting propagation. A weeks growth
What I've done to my space. Still trying to figure it out.
Side table. Kitchen Cabinet. Bathroom light.
5 weeks later - water propagation results. 1 rooted. The other didnā€™t.
5 weeks later - soil propagation. Only this one has visible roots.
8 weeks later. I should separate them now. 2 weeks from the last update
Some growths in these as well. These grew out in 2 weeks.
While I was moaning about my plants werenā€™t doing so well, there were some growths as well. Like on the cacti. Also decided to cut some of the Pothos to propagate it case it doesnā€™t recover.
The plant recovered. I have 4 new leaves. And the propagations are also rooting beautifully. Super proud of these in particular as Iā€™d almost given up on it. #plantmama
#plantmama the Rubber Plant as well. I have 2 new stems that are leafing well while the original one keeps drying out.
Good Morning. #PlantMama Tafiti here reporting for duty. This is what my table looks like this morning with 3 new babies.
#MondayBuy Just because.... Sansevieria and a cactus
My growing Sanseveria Family
A larger family
Finally got around to getting itšŸ’ƒšŸ¾This is probably the most beautiful Pothos: Satin Pothos. A rare plant as well.
Super excited about this find as well. The Sansevieria Cylindrica aka snake plant.
