in our birth chart, our mars sign suggests our particular brand of courage and how it's displayed. mars is the application of our will and the nature of our desire. mars' sign suggests HOW and WHAT we tend to act on.
when reflecting on the personal planets, i don't necessarily see the importance of mercury and mars being highly emphasized. however, in my opinion they're crucial components that we need to integrate in order to maximize our personal effectiveness.
when we're confronted with a challenge, our MARS suggests our style of responding. mars is attack AND defense. mars is our survival instinct. mars is the energy that we use to pursue and get things done.
if we're feeling "pushed around", strong-armed, taken advantage of, or like we've agreed to or given into something that we didn't want to do- we may have issues with getting our mars working in a healthy fashion.
"warriorhood" is also the domain of mars. there are many different ways that warriorhood can be displayed and effective as indicated by mars' sign placement as well as aspects to it.
anger and aggression are also the domain of mars and we must not shy away from this part of the discussion because there are certainly constructive and productive uses for our anger. mars' sign suggests HOW we can channel that and WHAT we can channel that into.
also, we all have mars somewhere in our birth chart and because it's located in the 12th house doesn't mean that we can't use it. i'd even go as far as to say our life is DRAMATICALLY ENHANCED if we can get in touch with our mars function if it's located in a place like that.
to "get our mars going" in our lives is to feel a sense of potency and vigor. to get our mars going is to have confidence and feel equipped that we're capable of effectively confronting obstacles and challenges, and fighting if it comes down to that.
another domain of mars is competition. it's important to understand that there are several ways to "throw our hat in the ring" and they all don't have to be overt and direct. we have to align ourselves with the style that suits *us best
in venus domain, we establish values. venus is the realm of what we feel is important and what we assign worth to. then comes mars, where we evaluate what's actually worth pursuing ,worth desiring and worth fighting for. we put our values (venus) into action (mars).
if you're interested in mars in your birth chart along with anything else, i'm available for personal consultations via phone and video. all of the information is here: http://sagittarianmind.bigcartel.com .
where a healthy mars is concerned, we're not preoccupied with the opinions of others, yet remain cognizant of their right to exist freely, as we desire for ourselves. we act with more confidence and less apology and regard for the reactions that ensue.
no one "cursed" you w/ a weak mars. don't buy into the farce that the universe would rather have you passive & lacking in motivation. if this is the case, it's *YOU, not the astrology. and, this is GREAT news because you can't change the placement but you CAN change yourself.
being in touch with one's passion and desire nature is also a signal of a healthy mars. as is the ability to "take charge" and engage in sustained efforts which require one's personal energy.
as i said before, we can make tremendous strides if we'll decide to WORK with the MARS sign that we HAVE rather than criticize it or create the narrative that it's superior or inferior to others.
to summon our mars in a healthy way, it's important that we understand what we want as well as the root of our desire(s). when mars is hitting on all cylinders, we're not tryin' to hear all of that bullshit and we're tremendously focused on our goals.
the food for thought here is to: GET SOMETHING THAT WILL CHALLENGE YOU. then, use your mars' style and focus to go after what you want. you have the mars that you're supposed to have. allow yourself to be "turned on".
no symbol on the zodiac wheel is jumping off the page and making decisions for you or engaging in actions. YOU have to be the spark plug that sets things in motion.
mars in aries = using energy to break new ground and compete. applying will toward creating experiences which elicit courage & the urge to act independently free from the control of others.
mars in libra = energy is applied toward forming alliances not only to further their individual goals, but also toward challenging them to adjust to varying viewpoints and new information as a means to refine their stance or position.
these are two quick examples, but if you're looking for more information, i offer full consultations, as i won't be talking about all of the mars signs in this thread.
