he says the reason why “may we bye” sounds like jongdae + hanbyul battling it out is actually bc initially he gave jongdae all the good parts but jd performed it flawlessly so he felt that he needed to step up his game

this is important yall:
may we bye was originally just hanbyul’s song but he thought it would suit jongdae really well so he really wanted to give the song to jd, but he also liked it alot so they decided on the duet

while jd was preparing for april, hanbyul said he saw a different side of jd, one that was more mature. also after tipsy live they stayed to drink more, talking about music, etc. he said he saw jd’s sincere approach (to music/singing)

while directing may we bye, hanbyul said he directed differently than other dance songs bc he wanted to pull more out of jd (after recognizing his potential)

red shirt guy’s first exposure to jd was april and a flower and although he knew jd would do well, he was really impressed with how well jd pulled off the ballads

adding onto that, hanbyul said he could see through the ballads how sincere jd was about the big picture he’s been drawing (about his career/the album) and added that >> jd likes those kinds of songs <<

white shirt guy said he had always thought jd’s voice would go well with danceable/funky music but after april he realized that his voice goes well with ballads too (haha yes bc his voice goes well with literally anything)

white shirt guy actually observed the may we bye recording and saw how jd showed a totally different tone and colors, which white shirt thought was very charismatic

hanbyul: jongdae’s really good at high notes but actually he didn’t want to put alot of them in the album because he wanted it to be more emotional. so hanbyul got them all out of him for may we bye
