I am very sad to learn of Guenter Treitel's death. The most important post-war contract lawyer. He fled Nazi Germany on the Kindertransport, as he describes below. Worth watching regardless of whether you're interested in law. https://vimeo.com/48474737
His contract text is one of my favourite books. Lawyer's law. You find out whether a law book is any good by using it in practice. Treitel never disappointed, whatever the point in dispute there would be something in the book on it.
He spoke (oddly) with a slight American accent, despite never having lived there, because of his learning English in the American school in Berlin.

He loved Jane Austen (possibly a proxy for the country that had become his home).
You could tell if Treitel had set a particular year's Oxford contract exam because it would feature names and places out of an Austen novel (Mapes, Netherfield etc),
Via @fjwilmotsmith here is Treitel explaining the legal issues in Austen novels (and why Jane Austen was instinctively a good lawyer)
