As my kids get older, I know it’s going to be harder to keep them out of the spotlight when they’re out with us and out in the world.

I really just wanted to thank you for helping us with that so far. I’ve seen you swarm to protect when someone’s uploaded their pictures,

I’ve gotten DMs from you when video of them has surfaced.
You have all been so incredible and understanding.
My kids didn’t sign up for all this. And yet...
A few weeks ago, S & I were at this street fair. Bouncy castles and toy booths. And there was a karaoke booth...

And Sebastian hears it and says, “Can I sing the Batman theme?”
I gulp. Already, I’ve said no to selfies all day because I’m alone with him, and now he wants to grab the mic.
“Seb can we sing it at home?”
Nope. He wants to sing like the other kids, here in the street.

And do I want him to have a normal life and sing? Or do I tell him no because I KNOW people are gonna pull their cameras out because of me and I don’t have the power to Patti LuPone this, I’m just out here in the street?

We stand in line. He sings Batman. People pull their phones out. They cheer when he’s done. He is so happy.
I haven’t seen one video of it surface.
And I’m so tearfully grateful to you all for helping us with this.
It’s gonna get harder.
But I’m so grateful.
Thanks.
