This thread is about my beloved Thai BL series. I'm going to post in order of when I watched them and give a small description and my rating I gave them. Hopefully somebody will be inspired to watch one!
Lovesick The Series- 9/10: (This is the first one I watched and it got me hooked) This series is about Phun and Noh, two high school boys who struggle over two long ass seasons (48 episodes) with sexuality, relationships, friendships, and figuring out who they really are.
Make It Right The Series- DNF: This one was so terrible that I don't even understand what the story was about. It's highly recommended for no reason at all. Also it has a sex scene with legit underage actors that made me feel really gross.
SOTUS(s)- 10/10: Following the story of freshman Kongpob and his third year head hazer Arthit as they go from enemies to lovers to dealing with grown up issues in the second season. It's just so well written and the acting is perfect.
2 Moons- 8/10: Freshman Yo gets into the same university as the boy he's had a crush on since middle school, Pha, only to have a rocky start to their relationship. Bonus points for the cutest plot twist in history. This series is just soft af.
Water Boyy- 6/10: The acting is pretty good, but the love story doesn't feel genuine, not to mention the side relationships involves 'fixing' a lesbian and making her fall for a boy. Also the most believable romance is between the dad and his son's best friend so.... yikes.
Together With Me- 6/10: Some steamy sex scenes, okay acting, and not the worst plot, but I hate when the friends all know the girlfriend is a snake but don't tell their friend the truth because it's not their business/they need proof/ect. So fucking annoying.
Senior Secret Puppy Honey- 8/10: Largely het, BL is side, but the whole story is just so cute and sweet and the BL is there enough for me to include it in the list. Girl is afraid of dogs, boy helps her learn to not be so scared, their best friends fall in love. Win/Win.
Our Skyy- 9/10: Actually a 4 episode special with basically coda episodes to other series. The best part is the Coda to SOTUS in which Kongpob and Arthit have to deal with Kongpob going to study abroad for 2 years and what it means for them.
Love By Chance- 9/10: This is a favorite because usually in BL's it's like "I don't like boys I just like you" but in this one Pete, a shy sweet gay boy, befriends Ae, a fiercely loyal athlete, and Ae falls in love with his new gay friend. Steamy and sweet and angsty!
ReminderS- 8/10: Has the same actors from LBC playing similar characters, but different names since they split from the show. They meet Phun and Noh from Lovesick The Series who are now university students. Basically an excuse to show Phun and Noh together after all these years.
He's Coming To Me- 8.5/10: Mes is a ghost who has been lingering for 20 years and can't reincarnate. Thun is a boy who can see him. When he's grown up, Thun takes Mes out of the cemetery to help solve the mystery of his death. They fall in love. Very good but forced ending.
Theory of Love- 10/10: AS A PERSON EDUCATED IN FILMMAKING THIS WAS LITERALLY THE BEST SERIES EVER! It's 4 film students and their love lives (3 queer, 1 het) and every episode is based on a romance film and has easter eggs from movies and my GOD the ACTING! THE WRITING! *dies*
2 Moons 2- 8.5/10: I really enjoyed the more in-depth story and the acting was AMAZING. All it lacked was development between the main pair. BUT all the ships were so amazingly casted and acted! I absolutely loved it!
Dark Blue Kiss- 7.5/10: I didn't really like Pete/Kao to start with but this surprised me by making them healthier and more watchable. The real win here is the side couple, Mork/Sun. They steal the series and I could totally watch just a Mork/Sun cut and be happy.
3 Will Be Free- 9/10: Technically this isn't the usual BL but it has a polyamorous relationship between two men and a woman so I say it counts. This is an action drama where a trio are on the run from mob assassins and it's honestly one of the BEST and most Dramatic series.
2Wish- 7/10: Shows us what happened to 2 and Wish from ReminderS after graduation. It's alright. It's cutesy but really doesn't have any plot. Basically just an excuse for more Mean/Plan content, which isn't a bad thing.
Until We Meet Again - 8/10: Reincarnated lovers who took their lives are now able to be happy in their second life. This series has AMAZING acting, BEAUTIFUL filmmaking, and a great story. The only reason it's not 9/10 is it does drag a bit around the middle.
