#ShowNoMercy - a few to choose from - my faves the obvious NWOBHM inspired

“Face the Slayer” has that galloping Priest riff going on; “Tormentor”’s Venom worship

BUT “Crionics”, is pure “Phantom of the Opera” goodness

Again, many to choose from and it’s mostly a toss up between “Crypts of Eternity” and “Kill Again” - the latter being a show piece for Lombardo.

That said, “At Dawn they Sleep” just because it has that cool half tempo thing going on amidst all the frenetic thrash

Contenders: “Criminally Insane” & “Postmortem”

BUT award goes to “Altar of Sacrifice” / “Jesus Saves” 1-2 knockout - and that riff/tempo shift at “Enter to the realm of Satan” is heavy metal history right there, and the way Lombardo slows things down at the end...

The hardest album to choose from because so many deep cut gems.

It’s a tie between “Behind the Crooked Cross”, “Ghosts of War”, and “Read between the Lines”...

...and “Crooked Cross” wins it by a hair.

It’s the 3 song run: “Blood Red” > “Spirit in Black” > “Expendable Youth”

I’ll go with “Blood Red”

Of note, those 3 songs alone inspired a 90s style blatantly ripped off by bands like White Zombie. The 90s pretty much started with this whole LP in fact
