Songs Mariah Carey Wrote/Produced For Other People - A Thread 🦋
Mariah is one of the greatest and most successful songwriters in popular music She’s written all her songs including her hits herself besides the songs she covered yet she doesn’t get the credit she deserves
"If you’re not strumming a guitar or playing a freaking flute or a fiddle, suddenly you’re less of a writer”

So here are some songs Mariah has wrote for other people in addition to her show discography to further show that she pushes her pen
First the songs she wrote for Trey Lorenz one of her friends and her backup vocalist
Always in Love (1992) - From Trey Lorenza’s first album, this song is very reminiscent to Emotions Mariah specifically Cant Let Go The climax is very 1992 Mariah especially - She contributed background vocals I’m sure
Just To Be Close To You (1992) - This song is also very reminiscent of Emotions Mariah
Make You Happy (1997) - Mariah wrote and provided background vocals for Trey on the first Men In Black Album - imo she sound a lot like the 2000s even tho it’s only 97
Pisces - (2006) Mariah and Trey Lorenz Collab from the 2000s under appreciated honestly
Help Me Find A Way To Your Heart by Daryl Hall of the famous group Hall and Oates (1993) - Mariah helped compose and arrange this song and it shows - It sounds very Emotions and Debutriah so wish she woulda kept this
I Lose Control (1993) - Penny Ford - Apparently this song was written for debut but it was cut so Mariah gave it to Penny Ford - the delivery is very 1990 Mariah I kinda wish she woulda kept it as an uptempo for debut I bet she hates this song like someday tho
All Cried Out - Allure - Mariah wrote a few songs for some R&B girl groups
Last Chance - Allure - This songs sounds like late 90s Mariah with all the falsetto - I need her demo asap
Head Over Heels by Allure featuring Nas - this sounds like Mariah’s late 90s uptempos I kinda wish she kept this and had this as her main collab with Nas but we love the TGIFY remix with Nas
Don’t Go Looking For Love (1999) by Blaque - This sounds like rainbowriah, love the groove on this song and I wish she kept it but Blaque needed all the help they could get
After (1998) - 7 Mile - this sounds like it was written around the Butterfly era with it the more R&B ballad sound
Everytime I Close My Eyes (1996) Babyface - Mariah contributed background vocals to this song and Babyface contributed background vocals and helped produce Melt Away from Daydream
