2. You must know first, your own healing lies in your hands. Of course god is there and will help.
But know that god is ALWAYS there. We are the ones who tune him out. Let me explain...

3. I've concluded the main causes of depression are
A. Negative thoughts
B. A feeling of powerlessness, helplessness
C. Health concerns. Mild malnutrition can contribute. Please keep reading.

4. God is love
We have free will
We are the ones that cut off this love. Usually w our negative thoughts

Positive thoughts (usually love based) give us life, negative thoughts (usually fear based)

5. Meditation, or contemplative prayer, is a stilling of the mind that stops negative thinking that contributes to depression. You can use a mantra of a brief prayer or verse. A good one is Be still and know that i am god.

6. So becoming aware of your thoughts, realizing they are just thoughts and are not necessary to be believed, can take some of the pressure off. Write down all your thoughts for 5 min. Every one. Look at how many are negative, energy draining. See if you can tweak them upward...
7. We as creations of god were designed to be in touch with his creation, nature. The ancient healing elements are earth, water, fire and air. Going barefoot, getting in water (even a shower), sitting in front of a fire, deep breathing (preferably fresh) air.
8. The book Earthing explains the science of healing via going barefoot on the earth. As the earth has a magnetic field, we have an aura. Neg stuff clings to our aura. Water feels good bc our aura turns thru the water and is cleansed. Same exact thing with sitting within five...
9...ft of a fire. Deep breathing oxygenates and empowers you physically. Back to water, drinking it will help energize you. It really does help lift mood. It keeps stuff flowing, moving in our bodies. Same with exercise which helps prevent and relieve depression.

Getting out in nature is important if you can. Sunrises. Sunsets. Noon sun on your face. Seeing the stars. Watching the birds and squirrels. Crickets and katydid sounds on a summer night. Hiking if you can.

13. Get into physical contact with nature. It cleanses you, heals you, soothes you, inspires you. Earth, water, fire, air.

14. Eat food that gives life. Eat what god grows. Not what man makes. Fruit, not candy. Big luscious salads, not pizza. I wouldn't give up any foods. Just focus on alive foods that give life.
15. Spirituality is god, love, just being
Its not forcing yourself to pray read your bible, go to church. If these things help you
by all means. But be easy w yourself when you are depressed
Dont force (guilt doesnt help)

I wish you much love and much success. There are many ways out of depression; there is much you can do. Pick one thing that appeals to you. Add more over time. Baby steps.
