Behold, the start of my official #mammalwatching thread, where I& #39;ll update my mammal-related adventures from here on out (don& #39;t worry, I won& #39;t re-post anything! All new content!)

Here& #39;s the first, Botta& #39;s Pocket Gopher (Thomomys bottae) 5/13/2019
Columbian Blacktail/Rocky Mountain Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus x Odocoileus hemionus hemionus) spotted 6/3/2019 @USFWSRefuges (Sacramento Main Complex)! #mammalwatching
Another additions for 6/3/2019, Pronghorn (Antilocapra americana)! Extraordinary animals and while I& #39;ve seen them in the wild before, never have I had the chance to photograph them. About time! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😄" title="Lächelndes Gesicht mit geöffnetem Mund und lächelnden Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Lächelndes Gesicht mit geöffnetem Mund und lächelnden Augen">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="📷" title="Kamera" aria-label="Emoji: Kamera"> #mammalwatching
A definite bucket list item, I got to see a pod of Short-beaked Common Dolphins (Delphinus delphis) off the coast of San Diego 9/2/2019! They& #39;re one of many vagrant cetacean species that SoCal waters get https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😁" title="Grinsendes Gesicht mit lächelnden Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Grinsendes Gesicht mit lächelnden Augen">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🐬" title="Delfin" aria-label="Emoji: Delfin"> #mammalwatching
My second Risso& #39;s Dolphin (Grampus griseus) sighting of the year and third species for this particular trip 9/2/2019! They& #39;re another commonly seen species off of California& #39;s coasts. There are even more spotted every year, likely due to higher squid numbers! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🐬" title="Delfin" aria-label="Emoji: Delfin"> #mammalwatching
Another day (11/10/19) another cetacean... 5th species of the year is Harbour Porpoise (Phocoena phocoena vomerina) sighted right at the mouth of San Francisco Bay. The waters below the Golden Gate are one of the few places known where these lovely critters breed! #mammalwatching
California Sea Lions (Zalophus californianus) on Pier-39& #39;s K-Dock! All of these are males, the females are down at the Channel Islands to raise their babies! Took a moment on 11/24/2019 to photograph these lads. #mammalwatching
Fieldwork means cetaceans, and this Harbour Porpoise is just as amazing as any whale (in my opinion) #wildlifephotography #mammalwatching
Since the sea was SO placid yesterday we were able to sneak into this little cove and see these East Pacific Harbour Seals (Phoca vitulina richardsi)! Always fun to see into the lives of wildlife (with respect!) #wildlifephotography #mammalwatching
I do love the whales...but Greys (Eschritius robustus) are lil shits, they really are. They& #39;re notoriously good at disappearing since they can dive anywhere between 7-20 minutes, making watching them unpredictable. #mammalwatching #wildlifephotography
(6/22/20) Mom and I were waiting for some pictures to be developed so we went wildlife watching at a local river park... and sure enough saw this Pacific Otter (Lontra canadensis pacifica)! #mammalwatching
Four marine mammals spotted on this trip so far! Here& #39;s to more! (7/4/2020) #mammalwatching #wildlifephotography
Yes, a good lad in Monterey Harbour. Popped up, looked at me, then went back down. #mammalwatching #wildlifephotography
Plenty of marine mammals can be seen right from shore, and even some right in cities! #mammalwatching #wildlifephotography

(7/4/20) one of my favourite species to sail with are Risso& #39;s Dolphins (Grampus griseus), which are interestingly enough the largest species we call "dolphin" (though not the largest Delphinid, Killer Whales are still larger)! #mammalwatching #wildlifephotography
Fins down one of the BEST Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaengliae) sightings I& #39;ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Super clear water, we got to see the WHOLE animal! (7/4/20). #mammalwatching #wildlifephotography

Special addition to this thread. A special throwback, to 9/2/2019, when I discovered working with the world& #39;s most amazing creatures and the humans that love them would be what I want to do with my life! #mammalwatching #wildlifephotography
