The fast fashion industry is awful for the planet. Did y'all know that 2700 liters of water go into making ONE cotton shirt? Yikes. I buy only second hand now and I am starting a thread to show my second hand outfits! Anyone who has second hand outfits are welcome to join.
Places I get my clothes: Uptown Cheapskate, DI, Plato's Closet, hand me downs, Goodwill, http://Threadup.com , garage sales, http://Poshmark.com  and various local thrift stores. A plus side of second hand: Saves me SO much money!
I am definitely not claiming that I am a fashionista, I am far from that 😂. I just wanna show that it's possible to get cute stuff second hand. I'm also not saying you all have to start buying ONLY second hand... Little changes here and there are good too!
Combat boots are not second hand, because they were a gift!
More outfits to come as I wear them 😘
Pretty sure this entire outfit, head to toe, is from Uptown Cheapskate. Y'all will learn that this is where I get MOST of my clothes. Feat. My cute sassy cousin Liana
Top and necklace from Uptown, pants from the DI and shoes are hand me downs! Horrible hair style is sadly from me.
The Ellen McArthur foundation has stated that clothing production has DOUBLED in the last 15 years and that if we continue supporting fast fashion at the rate we do, there will be a greater demand for clothing by 2015 #shopsecondhand

Completely second hand looks for Vegfest!! #shopsecondhand
1 garbage truck of clothes are burned or out into landfill EVERY SECOND. Not only should we shop more second hand, but lets also encourage every to donate their used clothes as well! #shopsecondhand
Okay you guys.... I heard from a little birdie aka the world resources institute that "The average consumer bought 60 percent more clothes in 2014 than in 2000, but kept each garment for half as long." So who knows how bad it is in 2019! #Shopsecondhand
Fun fact: I found the shoes I am wearing with the black dress at a recycle center/dump in New Hampshire. They were cute and free and I am NOT sorry! #shopsecondhand
"A 2018 U.S. Department of Labor report found evidence of forced and child labor in the fashion industry in Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Turkey, Vietnam and other countries."

I discovered self timer so I don't have to take selfies in Devin's mirror anymore. #shopsecondhand
The fast fashion industry emits 1.2 billion tons of CO2 equivalent per year. Ooh la LA you guys. I wonder how much of that we can reduce by thrifting more often #shopsecondhand
The Amazon burning is so devastating. I really want to think of more ways to lower my carbon footprint. I'd really like to encourage those who buy all of their clothes via fast fashion to give thrifting/local businesses a try.
Other sustainable clothing practices we stan:
1) Still wearing old clothes you've had for years
2) Shop local business: Less CO2 emission due to less shipping and supports your economy
3)Borrow clothes from friends: New cute lewks without putting your money towards fast fashion
Nobody at all:

Me: Do you like my outfit, it was thrifted?!
