hiyori x kisumi thread:
this part in s3 speaks volumes to me,,
kisumi is alone in bball & is the plus one, while hiyori wasnt part of the gang so he's left out, but they have this convo & it kind of has a sad-happy-poetic implication,, it's sorta like finding solace in each other

nobody joins kisumi in the bball club cause they're all swimmers so imagine being unable to share what u love doing with ur friends and vice versa and kind of always getting "rejected" (but no hard feelings cause it really is a case of diff interests) and then there's hiyori++

++who just probs wants ikuya to see hiyori/think of their friendship as the same level as ikuya thinks of the iwatobi gang (apart from ikuya seeing/believing in his own strength)

then that scene where ikuya's with the iwatobi gang so hiyori kinda feels lonely, kisumi arrives++

++and offers the same question to hiyori about joining the bball club, looking like he understands what hiyori is feeling skdlf how will that not make me emotional?? and then hiyori smiles and answers that he'll think about it sldkd

i'm so ;-; because apart from the idea that++

++hiyori might opt to stop swimming even just for a while (but we know that that's highly unlikely), kisumi's question can be read as an invite for kisumi's friendship & since it's kind of an iwatobi gang thing, by extension, hiyori is also invited "formally" to the gang thus++

++he gets to hang out at the coffee shop too,,
cause if i rememeber correctly, ikuya technically didn't invite hiyori into the iwatobi gang. even if he's gonna get pulled along to join eventually, it's still a diff thing to be recognized to be a part of the friend group++

++especially after the shit hiyori pulled in s3

and then there's also the possible analysis that hiyori accepting kisumi's offer means that he's finally gonna allow himself to have good things cause there's someone who understands how he feels (aka kisumi) and that his efforts++

++are recognized by someone (aka still kisumi but also ikuya cause they did "talk" about this) and that he doesnt have to be alone + he doesnt have to separate himself from ikuya now that ikuya hangs with the iwatobi gang cause hiyori can also be a part of that just like kisumi++

++and this speaks so much to me cause they finally get to have some sort of "closure", at least for hiyori cause it doesnt seem like kisumi has an issue with the set up too much tbh. altho if we going to push for a "closure" regarding kisumi, i think++

++it would be that someone finally doesnt explicitly reject his "basketball spending time together offer" and i think that's also as poetic and emotional cause my bby kisumi finally getting more love uwu (i know it isnt an actual yes, but it also isnt an explicit no)++

++also hiyori suddenly being comfortable and sharing his feelings on the spot with kisumi who he probably barely knows?? and i know i've implied this already but kisumi's concern for hiyori by choosing to go to him instead of the iwatobi gang?? yeah my tears

i know that this is all hypothetical and that there really isnt much proof of this in the anime but the idea just makes me very emotional,, i love these two so much pls give them less angst and more love uwu
