The pattern to success she has laid out is clear and will be followed for decades to come: Suck up to the people you cover, write sympathetic pieces about them, throw in one or two negative pieces to cover your ass (the ratio is like 80:1), share a Pulitzer, get a book deal, $$$

I mean it’s right out there in the open (Thrush was later dropped from the deal after his sexual harassment was exposed, but he still is on The NY Times Capitol Hill beat)

Don’t expect to see much of anything about the criticism of Haberman from myself and thousands of others on CNNs media issues show next week

I think Haberman is the worst because the NY Times is the most important and influential outlet in the country. It isn’t even close. The next 10 outlets have maybe 1/10 the influence of the Times. If you’re bad at the Times it outweighs Fox, Cillizza, Sinclair etc

When the Bushies were selling wmd there’s a reason they targeted the Times. Infect the patient there, the entire country is diseased in no time.

I think all the stuff about her mom’s pr firm is silly and distracts from the point. She does access because it makes her money and boosts her career. That’s it. It’s very simple, don’t over-complicate it.

Also stop thinking your experience is everyone’s experience. Millions of people read her and take her reporting seriously, as do the vast majority of her fellow msm reporters. Asserting that u don’t like her and can’t imagine that reporters support her doesn’t fix the problem.
