Can liberal folks PLEASE stop using that SpongeBob meme.

The disabled community has told y'all so many times that it's ableist and offensive.

If you call yourself a progressive, stop participating in the mockery of disability.
Same goes for "reeeee" and the autistic screeching meme.

Both mock vocal stimming.

Using either is ableist.
Unfortunately @cricketcrocker is locked right now (sorry about how awful people have been to you)

But for those who can see - this is a good thread on the mixed capital-lowercase lettering https://twitter.com/cricketcrocker/status/1057415626371842054?s=19

Even if NONE of these stereotypes existed, the alternating capital-lowercase writing trips up screen readers. That's enough of a reason not to use it. That makes your tweets inaccessible.
"He's imitating a chicken, not a disabled person. You're ableist if you see it that way!"

He was imitating a chicken until the moment it got paired with the uppercase-lowercase mocking text, which is meant to call the target "st*pid"

That image was used for a reason.
I know a non-speaking girl with a severe intellectual disability who walks hunched over very similarly to the way SpongeBob is in the meme, with her arms contorted out to the side, usually paired with loud vocalizations.

That image was paired with the text for a reason.
