"Sanya, you never shut up about WE HUNT THE FLAME, but what is this book even about???"

BUCKLE UP, and lemme tell y'all about the lush fantasy that is @hafsahfaizal's debut: a thread
First, we have our setting. Unlike most other fantasy novels you'll find nowadays, WE HUNT THE FLAME is set in a land inspired by ancient Arabia, called Arawiya. It is split into five caliphates (states), by the names of Sarasin, Demenhur, Zaram, Pelusia, and Alderamin
Meet: ZAFIRA, our first main character. She is from the caliphate of Demenhur, which is rampant with misogyny. In order to keep her people from starving, she ventures into the deadly forest Arz to hunt. But she must disguise herself as a man, or be cast aside
Meet: NASIR, our second main character. He is son of the Sultan of Sarasin, and therefore a prince. But he is also a hashashin, an assassin for his father, giving him the nickname, "Prince of Death" he always carries out his missions and broods endlessly, without fail
These two cross paths when they find themselves seeking the same item: an artifact that will restore magic to Arawiya. Except, Zafira is sent to recover this artifact for good; Nasir is sent by his father to kill Zafira, and steal the artifact for his own nefarious purposes
Meet: ALTAIR, General of Sarasin, sent by the Sultan along with Nasir to the abandoned island of Sharr to kill Zafira. His fun and carefree demeanor is the perfect balance to Nasir's brooding darkness. Annoying Nasir is the greatest joy in his life
Meet: KIFAH and BENYAMIN, they also journey to Sharr, in search of this very same artifact. Kifah is a fighter and she doesn't let anyone hold her back. Benyamin is a Safi, an elven-like immortal creature that is as infuriating as he is knowledgeable
These five begrudgingly come together as a Zumra, a squad, to recover the artifact. But can they trust each other? The question of betrayal may have to take a backseat, for Sharr is full of dangers and an ancient evil far greater than their distrust for each other
A beautiful story full of twists & turns, WE HUNT THE FLAME exhibits an exquisite writing style, characters you can't help but love, & the tropes of enemies to lovers, slow burn, political intrigue, & found families at their finest. Read it today & be sure review it on Amazon!
