I’ve been planning on doing a thread on celebrities from my home state of Minnesota, and finally got around to it. There are some well known ones and some I had no idea on. And there were more than I thought.
We’ll start with Nobel Prize for Literature winner, Robert Allen Zimmerman. Also known as Bob Dylan. Born in my hometown of Duluth and grew up about an hour north in Hibbing, MN.
Although he primarily grew up in Washington, D.C., Gig Young was born in Minnesota. Unfortunately he died in a grisly murder-suicide.
Jessica Lange is from Cloquet, MN, just 18 miles from my home. She has had a great resurgence in her career with American Horror Story.
We will go from one Jessica to another. The gorgeous Jessica Biel is also from just north of me, coming from Ely, MN. But she has questionable choice in men...

Josh Hartnett is from St. Paul, MN. I’m sure there will be some swooning over this one. You’re welcome.
Brilliant film makers and brothers Joel and Ethan Coen are from Minneapolis. They have made some of the best pictures over the past 35 years.
Television and film actor William Demarest, probably best known as Uncle Charley from My Three Sons, is from St. Paul, Mn.
I don’t know if I’m more embarrassed because Jesse Ventura is from Minnesota, or that he was also my governor. Yet, here he is.
We really need to up the cool factor after that last one. And Vince Vaughn definitely does that. He’s so money.
An under appreciated television actor is Peter Krause, from Alexandria, MN. He starred in the show Six Feet Under. He was also in my favorite show of all-time, Aaron Sorkin’s Sports Night. I highly recommend checking it out (and it’s not about sports).
From Minneapolis, MN, Rachel Leigh Cook was at her peak in 90s teen movies. And I still have a crush on her.

I’ve been saving the best few for the end. From the small town of Bemidji, MN, Jane Russell is still unquestionably one of the sexiest actresses of all time.
By far the most iconic film star from my home state. The immensely talented Judy Garland is from Grand Rapids, MN. And I believe they still celebrate with the Judy Garland Festival every year. Goosebumps.
And I saved my personal favorite for last. Prince Rogers Nelson. In my opinion, the most talented musician of all-time. I miss him so much every day.

This thread was a lot of fun to put together, I hope everyone enjoys it.
