The largest democracy in the world counted votes for its general elections, determining the ruling party and the prime minister. Making Narendra Modi the Prime minister for his second term.
Just so we're clear, the fight isn't against a single person or even a single party.
The fight is against an ideology and the infrastructure that supported and continues to support its success. The fight is against hate, populism, majoritarianism, religious fanaticism, systemic violence divisive narratives.
It is against the dismissal and exclusion of of underrepresented and minority groups. The fight is against the control of power and priviledge. Against the rampant deforestation and reckless environmental degradation. The fight is against misplaced priorities.
The fight is against identity based politics, the lack of accountability. Against personality politics. Against the recordhigh unemployment.
Even if BJP hadn't won, these systems and precedents would've remained. We all have to look beyond our experiences when we engage with politics. We have to adopt an inclusive lense when we elavuate governance.
We urge to scrutinize the implications of different narratives and policies beyond our world.
