I don't know where the fandom police came from because back in my day that wasn't really a thing. But also fic wasn't shared and discussed how it is now. You didn't usually know if there was explicit content in a story until you were already in it. +
Now with AO3 the ships and any other content are in the tags, which you can peruse beforehand and click out if there's something that bothers you. There are certain topics I will never ever read so I don't. +
I have no limits on what kind of explicit content I can handle and I will read most gory gross stuff. I write horror, my head is a weird place and certain things fascinate me. But everyone has their limits, as they should. Know what you want and don't want to read. +
Don't read that fic if you don't like the ship or the violence or the sexual content. Go find something more your style and leave those other stories to those who will enjoy them. Read what YOU love and let authors write what THEY love.

The end.
