Was Jeffree Star involved in grooming an underage boy? *A Thread.*

Dozens of tweets from 2012 have emerged between Jeffree Star and Jamie Ryan Dee, a former teen model once known for their large Tumblr following.

(Jamie has since transitioned and I believe now uses they/them pronouns.)
According to their FamousBirthdays page ( https://www.famousbirthdays.com/people/jamie-dee.html), Jamie was born January 21, 1995. About a month after they turned 17, Jeffree, who was 27 at the time, began tweeting them regularly.

On February 19, 2012, Jeffree tweeted "I have a crush. With an accent." A week later he tweeted, "umm @JamieRyanDee has the cutest accent :D" and "@JamieRyanDee well I doo like your accent.." leading one to assume Jamie may have been his aforementioned crush.

Jamie has since deactivated their account, which makes it tricky to establish context, but fans tweeted their reactions to the 17 & 27-year-old's exchanges:

Jeffree's friend, johnnyboyxo, a trans woman of MySpace fame, showered Jamie in praise and romantic messages, tweeting, "I'm starting a countdown til you turn 18<3" while Jamie was 16. Johnnyboyxo's DOB has varied on online profiles, but was likely 20-something at the time.

NOTE: The legal age is 16 in both Pennsylvania and England, where johnnyboyxo and Jamie were based respectively. However, the legal age in California is 18.

So when johnnyboyxo tweeted, "I'm gonna come to London when you're 18 and we're gonna do illegal things," Jeffree responded with "Am I invited?" to which johnnyboyxo told him to "bring [his] rhinestone dildo."

From one of their last Twitter exchanges, after Jamie turned 18, one can begin to piece together context through fans' quoting/retweeting.

There were about two-dozen additional tweets from Jeffree to Jamie, suggesting the two regularly Skyped and Facetimed. Since screenshotting these on May 14th, roughly 1,300 tweets have been deleted by Jeffree's team, including...

...all those sent to Jamie *and* the "I have a crush with an accent" tweet which is seemingly innocuous if an association with Jamie isn't drawn.

Would like to point out that I'm posing a serious question, *not* a claim. A grown man of celebrity status telling a newly 17-year-old fan to "come to bed," "come get a kiss," "[come] get me pregnant," etc is questionable and worth examining by my personal standards.

I found the tweets (including the fans' tweets) to be upsetting and confusing, and would earnestly rather get answers than smear someone.
With that said, don't jump to conclusions about Jeffree and please respect Jamie's privacy.
