WE HAVE LANDED SAFELY IN JAPAN! This has been a lifelong dream, & I still canât believe we actually made it happen.
Iâm going to update this thread throughout the next two weeks because I donât want to forget a single detail of this honeymoon.

Even the flight over was cool. I mean, it was super long, but the video game and movie selection was pretty legit. Plus, the food service was incredible, and we were able to drink as much plum wine as we wanted.
We also did the thing youâre supposed to do on international flights, especially when that flight is to Japan...
We played the Nintendo Switch. It felt good.

Our first full day here and the husband lost his wallet with his passport, RailPass, Suica card, and credit cards. No one has turned it in yet, so weâre applying for a new passport at the U.S. Embassy. Wish us luck on the rest of this trip lol.
We went to eat at a Bondolfi Boncaffe because it was close to the Embassy, and it was pretty good. They had some interesting menu items, like a honey & cheese pizza.
Coke tastes different here. We donât think itâs quite as sweet, so itâs a little bit more refreshing.
Coffee is served with gum syrup, which significantly changes the flavor, in my opinion. I like it a lot though.
We stayed at the James Bond (New Otani) hotel last night, and we paid $30 for five small chunks of cheese and another $30 for a glass of blueberry juice and sake, so itâs nice to actually eat.

Also, I realize that Iâm tweeting this at 4 a.m. EST (itâs 5 p.m. here). Iâll eventually have to try to find a better time to share stuff.
We have a strange fascination with the vending machines here.
The temptation to buy a bunch of Japan-exclusive video game merch is real. We picked up a Monster Hunter amiibo today, & we might get a Super Famicom tomorrow.
Japanese McDonaldâs is so much better than American McDonaldâs.
We had a teriyaki burger, a double beef and egg burger, citrus Coke, butter & soy sauce fries, tea chiffon cake, and pistachio macarons.

Watching anime. In Japan. Every night. Until we fall asleep.
That is the life.

Kyle just said we should take a pill bug home with us as a pet.
The 7-Elevens in Japan are supposedly, like, the best. So we picked up some stuff from there for lunch, including their âfamousâ onigiri.

Yesterday really took off after that last update. I wanted to share everything we had done, but I was just too damn tired. Kyle is still sleeping, so Iâm going to let him sleep in while I try to catch back up on this...

We visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine, and we purchased an omamori/charm blessed for matrimonial happiness. Since this is our honeymoon, it felt appropriate.
I guess Shinjuku is the place to go for ramen, & we went to one of the best in Shinjuku. But it was down this back alley that didnât look too inviting.
And this, folks, is why you marry someone who compliments your strengths/weaknesses, bc Kyle gave me the courage to go inside.

Look at this shirt. It is a dope shirt.
We tried really hard to get one a few weeks ago, but they sold out too quickly.
Kyle just wanted a shirt with his daughtersâ face on it. A fatherâs love should never be stifled like that.

BUT...
I held onto the hope that the shirt might still be available in stores. It was sold exclusively through atmos, which is only in Japan.
We actually stumbled across the store, and THEY HAD ONE SHIRT LEFT. It was the right size too. I still canât believe it.

We also went to a UNIQLO, & this is cool for a few reasons:
1. They had all of the Nintendo shirts that have been sold out for years.
2. The Monster Hunter shirts havenât been released anywhere else yet.
3. If you buy two Gundam shirts, you get a Japan-exclusive Gundam for free.

Treated ourselves to some pudding Ă la mode frappucinos and a matcha biscuit from Starbucks for brunch.
