Let's do a month of #RamadanChallenge.

Everyday, I will give you one small, simple but impactful challenge for you to accept and do it on the same day.

I will not preach something I didn't do, so we're together in this.

Are you up for it?

Come back to this thread everyday.
Day 1.

Offer help to someone (parents, mosque community, housemate etc) to prepare the food for iftar tonight.

As simple as to help put the plate on the table, if you don't know how to cook.

Small act, but it will put a smile on them for working hard to prepare our food.
Day 2.

Donate some money to any charity institution or needy people that you found, as little as RM1.

(Not to those asking for fund in social media, because there will be another challenge for that)

Because I want you to physically feel the joy of giving to people who need it.
Day 3.

During your iftar until sahur, do not drink any sweet beverages e.g. cordial, milk tea or anything.

You can break your fast with sweet bite (e.g. dates) yes, but drink only plain water (hot/warm/cold) after that.

Challenge your body to cut off from sugar. You can do it!
Day 4.

Whenever you go to bazaar or any food stall today, pay for someone without they know it, for the same thing as what you buy.

E.g. buy nasi ayam but pay double.

Tell the seller that you want to pay for someone who come after you.

Give a special gift to a stranger 🤭
Day 5.

Spend 15 minutes today to read Quran. Make sure it's 15 minutes straight in one go.

This is more fair than using the concept of "how many pages to read."

Doesn't matter which ayat, but it's better the one you're not familiar with. Otherwise, it would not be a challenge.
Day 6.

Watch any educational video in YouTube, Ted talk etc (10 minutes minimum), as a way for you to learn new things.

It can be anything, even outside of your course/job.

Then, tell it to someone, share what you learn.

They will understand,
You will understand better.
Day 7.

Today, greet any stranger that you meet (makcik cleaner, pakcik jaga warung etc) and have casual & short conversation.

No need to ask panjang lebar lahir mana asal mana.

Just simple as "Laku betul kedai pakcik petang ni eh!"

Getting more challenging.
You're up for it?
Day 8.

Contact someone you have not been in contact for a long time, either high school friends, distant cousins or anyone.

You can text, call or anything that you prefer. Just greet and catch up a little bit. No need to make it like an interrogation.

Just reconnect with them.
Day 9.

Today, say Thank You to someone. We are used to say it, but this time make it sincere and explain why do you thank them.

Not just,

"Thank you, Azri!"

But, explain why.

"Thank you for cooking our food, mom. We appreciate it."

"Thank you for helping with my work, pal."
Day 10.

Observe at least 10 things that you are grateful in the whole day today.

Say it out loud,

"I am grateful for _____".

Then write it down in your notebook/phone.

It helps us to become more optimistic in life and to increase self-awareness in being at the moment.
This Sunday 19th May, I will be sharing about this whole #RamadanChallenge thing and how to make our Ramadan as a new beginning for us.

Day 11.

Pick up your phone and call your primary/seconday school teacher. Have a conversation and catch up a little bit.

Tell them who you are today, what you're doing and how much it's related from their teaching back in school.

Thank them.

And wish them Happy Teacher's Day!
Day 12.

Make someone laugh today.

Not by tickling them, but by telling a joke, create a funny expression or anything!

If your attempt is unsuccessful, at least make them smile.

The key is to make someone feels happy and laugh from it, which then will give you happiness too 😊
Day 13.

Tomorrow after Sahur, abstain yourself from going back to sleep.

After your Subuh prayer as well, do not take a light sleep or a nap.

Fill that time with something beneficial;

Reading Quran,
Study your course,
Watch educational video.

Fight the sleepiness! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Day 14.

Find free time today and get out from the house.

Leave your gadget, music etc.

Have a walk around the park, breath the fresh air and just focus being at the moment.

We are so busy with the digital and stone forest.

It's time to reconnect ourselves with the nature.
Day 15.

Today, I want you to go have a physical interaction with someone.

Either hugging, kissing their forehead, shaking their hands or anything, for ONE MINUTE straight.

Doesn't matter with whom, as long as they are permissible for you.

Build that affection again 😄
Day 16.

Find out one bad habit that you want to destroy (i.e. lying, cursing, smoking, watching pornography, bawang-ing, anything at all).

Throughout this Ramadan (until day 30), prevent yourself from doing it.

Whenever the intention comes, take a pause and reflect it again.
Day 17.

Do one Sunat Ibadah today by yourself.

Doesn't matter what it is (exclusive of Solat Witir and Solat Terawih).

Sunat Deeds are one of the way to show our love to Allah, going extra miles from the required deed (compulsory).

Try it. You will feel happy and satisfied.
Day 18.

This is new for certain people.

During your iftar today, reduce the amount of rice (carbohydrates) and chicken/meat (protein) to the size of your fist.

Then, increase the amount of vegetables and fruits to half of the plate's size.

Break your fast healthily! ☺️
Day 19.

Today, find anyone you know (friends/families) and learn something from them.

Make them teach/share you something, any skills.

The key is for you to:

1. Build good relationship with them

2. Make yourself learn something new, face to face, from someone you know

😊
Day 20.

It's the last ten days of Ramadan!

When you wake up for sahur tonight, spend 3-5 minutes to perform Tahajud prayer.

Not only it's a good deed, but it's also really powerful to your spiritual as it make you pursue something more than you request to do.

The extra miles.
Day 21.

Smile is contagious!

Today, whoever you meet either family, friends or strangers, SMILE TO THEM.

Make it sincere, not the fake and scary cringe.

Make sure you smile to at least 50% of people you met today, only then this challenge considered as successful.

☺️
Day 22.

Make prayer for our family or friends or both today.

Raise our hand and request specific doa for them.

Not only it is good for them but also for you. Genuine hearts only want the best for others.

Hopefully, the angel will amin your doa and pray the same for us.
Day 23.

During your iftar today, abstain yourself from eating all out when you hear the Maghrib's azan.

Break your fast with simple bite first (plain water, dates etc) then go perform Maghrib prayer first.

After that, then you may proceed to eat your iftar as usual.

😄
Day 24.

Send a motivational quotes or advice to at least 10 people of your family/friends.

Doesn't matter what it is about, as long as it is positive and lovely to read.

Make sure you wrote it from your heart. Short and sweet.

Bring out the positivity of your heart ❤️
Day 25.

Choose any that you like from the #RamadanChallenge listed before (Day 1-24) and teach it to someone else.

Challenge them to do the same as you did before.

Guide them how to do it if they can't,
Share any tips or tricks you know might be helpful.

Be a good sharer ☺️
Day 26.

A bit late, for a reason.

Why?

Because today's challenge is for tomorrow!

Challenge yourself to perform Duha prayer tomorrow's morning. Not a compulsory deeds, but powerful.

Ask Allah for baraqah in everything you received in this life.

Then ask for more of it.

☺️
Day 27.

Spend some time to clean up your space, either your room, guest area, kitchen or anywhere.

Discard things that you have not used for more than 6 months. Donate it, sell it, recycle it.

Keep only the things that you really use, not things that you feels heavy to let go.
Day 28.

Call any of your relatives or distant family members whom you are not in touch for a long time.

Just have a simple conversation then wish Eid Mubarak. Reconnect just like you usually do with your friends.

Then say a prayer for them before hang up. Let them hear it.
Day 29.

Choose one new good habit that you want to develop inside you.

Either any from this #RamadanChallenge, or anything new that you can think of.

Aim to keep doing it everyday for at least 21 days per month, after this Eid Fitri.

Make a day checklist and be inspired by it
Day 30!

It's the last challenge!

Today, I want you to congratulate yourself for making it to the end.

Pat your shoulder and say well done,
Treat yourself to a good meal,
Smile to the person in the mirror.

Be proud that you have done something and love yourself for it! 😘
