Before svt, of course there were already idols self producing, but they weren't called "self producing idols" in exact terms (자 체 제 작 돌). Self producing is smth that's great to have, not a must have @pledis_17

However, after svt gained success with the "self producing idols" image coined by knetz and reporters, almost every single group wanna stand out (esp bg) are starting to market the self producing image. Self producing is now a must have, not a privilege nor a nice cherry on top

Even when svt went to Japan and promote, they were still called "self producing idols" when they were first introduced on TV @pledis_17

The same way that svt brought back popularity of fresh concept AND made big groups a trend. Of course big groups existed before svt but successful ones were from big company. It's a huge risk to debut big groups. But almost every new group from 2016 onwards has 9+ members
