this thread talks about the abuse the actresses of blue is the warmest color went through during the shooting of the movie. this isn't a moving coming of age film, it isn't artistic just because its french or it features nudity. its sole purpose is for men to fetishize lesbians. https://t.co/27543rZeNQ
"the film was made to satisfy the fetishes of kechiche and men like him with lesbian sex for hours, in a sexualized way, made with the suffering of the actresses, who until today nourish psychological traumas by the film"
you see the problem with the male gaze- these men who think they can pass off shooting naked women and presenting them in their most vulnerable state for "aRt" it is something that needs to be talked about, objectifying women for "art" isn't art. just say its a porno and go
they went through 10 hours of unnecessary sex scenes just to fulfill the director's ultimate lesbian sex dream. they were physically and sexually abused- and placed under humiliating circumstances, like being force to be completely exposed around the studio. god the exploitation
if you're a photographer/filmmaker who violently reacts to hearing that you objectify women through your art, you are part of that problem. all you could do is simply listen. ofcourse those who are guilty of this wont admit their harmful actions- you cant justify exploitation
btw the original thread goes into detailed specifics about the abuse the actresses experienced, just a warning there because it is pretty heavy
more recent articles-
