Ne doms and Se doms can look similar from the outside. Here is a thread on some ways to differentiate the cognitive functions in action.

Both can appear hyper, engaging and perceptive/interactive.

Se equally likes engaging in the mental realm and can be successful in debates and idea generation. But Se is eventually drained by pure abstract thought and will eventually return to the physical world, and interact with that.

For example my Se dom friends enjoy long conversations with me but eventually will orientate us to a real world task. Whereas, with likeminded Ne doms we could talk for hours upon hours without feeling drained.

Ne marvels at the physical world and many ideas stem from its interaction with the real world. But after a while the stimuli will drain Ne and it will retreat to the mental realm of abstract thought and connections.

Se is stimulated by social dynamics, concrete data, and real world stimuli.

Ne is stimulated by debate, idea generation and connecting ideas.
