Why @CESCLimited's profit-making strategy is questionable:
Every summers, starting March-April, my bill shoots up even if I'm away and my home locked.
Every summers, I write to CESC and am only given excuses so bizarre that eventually force me to pay the bills.
My neighbours' bills shoot too as soon as summers hit us.
A CESC exec once told me the bills are prepared based on previous year's consumption. So year after year, @CESCLimited inflates your consumption units in summers to make a tidy profit in the most unethical way.
If you complain, a @CESCLimited exec with a pre-planned agenda will come to "inspect" your meter and give you the following options:
1. Change your flat internal wiring.
2. Check building wiring to rule out power theft.
When you argue how wiring can be at fault when the bill spikes ONLY in summers, you're given an option to "replace" your meter costing >INR 5,000.
Of course, there's no guarantee your bills won't inflate with the new meter!
You obviously can't and don't want to change concealed wiring without a reason, and why replace a meter that otherwise works fine?
By now, @CESCLimited's underhand tactics become obvious and you're left with no option but to pay the bill.

Next year, the cycle repeats. đź‘Źđź‘Ź
