If you’re still making “its so sweet it gave me diabetes” or “ew this tastes like diabetes” jokes in 2019, you’re not only annoying, you’re unoriginal.

If you won’t stop because it’s hurtful, stop because its been told a hundred thousand times before.
It’s become the easy “I can’t think of a good joke so I’ll just make fun of diabetics, that’s guaranteed to get a laugh even though I’m not actually funny” joke. Get some better material that doesn’t perpetuate harmful myths about people suffering from an awful disease.
And I don’t want anyone jumping in to say “but it’s referring to type 2!!! Not type 1!!”

1) Tell that to everyone who’s ever told me I shouldn’t eat something because I have diabetes. Tell that to everyone who’s assumed I have diabetes because I’m fat before I said it’s type 1.
2) You don’t get t2d from eating sugar, and these jokes make people think this falsehood is not only fact, but something to laugh about

Just stop. Get some new material. If you’re actually funny, you’ll figure it out.
