Gather round, #sussexsquad. I've had a story that I've wanted to tell you for a while. It goes back a bit, but if you've been wondering about that Tatler hit piece that came out about Meghan Markle this week, this thread is going to lay it all out for you....
First, we need to start with 2017. Alexandra Shulman had been running British Vogue for 25 years, only to be replaced by the beautiful and black Edward Enninful. One of the first moves that he made, was to diversify the staff. As Naomi Campbell showed, staff was mostly white.
So, naturally this angered Alexandra Shulman. She gave an interview with the Guardian basically saying that she didn't see race, and that she had a great staff who didn't deserve to lose their jobs over diversity, because hardly any non-whites applied for positions anyway...
So, this interview was a disaster. It led to several other journalists calling her out for her white privilege, with many noting that in her 25 years as editor, black people were only on the magazine's cover 12 times. Let that sink in. Only 12 times in 300 covers! SMH.
Alexandra Shulman's defence of such a lack of diversity was to say "My chief remit was not to show ethnic diversity as a policy. You would sell fewer copies." This angered even Naomi Campbell, who took issue with Shulman implying that black models didn't sell covers....
So, you're probably wondering at this point why I'm even talking about this Alexandra Shulman and a British Vogue controversy from 2 years ago. Shulman didn't write that Tatler hit piece on Meghan Markle. David Jenkins did. So why bring it up?
Because guess who David Jenkins' girlfriend of several years is? Wait for it.....wait for it....Alexandra Shulman.
The same Alexandra Shulman who had a racist scandal with British Vogue two years ago, is the same girlfriend of David Jenkins who just wrote a hit piece for Tatler Magazine about Meghan. And if that's not enough...
She is the same Alexandra Shulman who published an article with the Daily Mail today talking about how the Duchess of Cambridge has her style mojo back. She brags about having lunch recently with old Vogue collegue Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey...
The same Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey is an old friend of Kate's, and is reportedly Kate's new stylist. What a small world.

Now, I'm not saying that Kate is involved. I like Kate a lot, actually. What I am saying is that the people attacking Meghan are a small circle of elites...
Elites with a history of being racially obtuse. To be fair, I don't even think these people are aware of just how out of touch they are when it comes to matters of race, and I think a great many of them think that they are being loyal to Kate by bashing Meghan...
But they are wrong. They hurt their legacies, and more importantly, they hurt the royal family. Because like it or not, Meghan is in the family now. Their attacks, insults, and jabs only help to pit Kate against Meghan, leading to online bullying of both...
And more importantly, they just end up looking like stuffy, old, white, out of touch racists.

Whew. Okay. I hope everyone now has a better understanding....
