It's been so long since I've made a video, but I woke up this morning and decided this guy had earned one. Christopher Rufo is a fellow at the Discovery Institute, a former city council candidate, and he has somehow become one of Seattle's go-to experts on homelessness.
He was featured on KUOW a couple weeks ago, has been a guest on KIRO, Tucker Carlson, and is a frequent booster of KOMO's latest homeless "documentary," Seattle Is Dying.
This morning he took to his facebook page to defend the KOMO program once more, emphatically claiming that Sinclair-owned KOMO is not a rightwing propaganda machine, and criticizing Dan Rather as not credible.
As more outlets turn to Christopher Rufo for his expertise, I thought it worth looking at all the ways he's proven himself a fraud, while examining how rightwing commentators, candidates, and neighborhood groups are attempting to rebrand themselves as "common sense" moderates.
Oh, and I forgot to add...
This whole thing was inspired by his completely asinine post this morning defending KOMO. He posted this at the same time the Crosscut story dropped, revealing KOMO used footage in their film of a man who wasn't even homeless. Rufo is an incredibly terrible person.
Just your weekly reminder that Christopher Rufo doesn't know what "median" means. 😂😂😂
Can you even imagine how problematic this is going to be? My guess is it'll make Seattle Is Dying look like it deserves a pulitzer.
