Ok so this thread is gonna be long, basically, I came up with a magic system and I'm looking for some feedback.

Here goes
Six types of magic:
Fire
Ice
Thunder
Metal
Plant
And air

Each magic type has two "counters" and two other types it "counters"

I draw like shit but I'll make a hexagram for it later
Ok, so here's the hexagram.

The arrows point at who is countered by whom, and you can see each weakness and strength.

Just to clarify, this doesn't mean plant magic would always lose against metal, it just means metal magic has a natural advantage over plant magic.
Of course, each magic type also has pros and cons and requirements to using them, but I'll explain later I have recess.
(Ok so school is over)

I'll start with the cons of every magic type:

Fire magic requires the mage to "link" a voluntary action to cast spells (kinda like mapping a key for a videogame) and only works with oxygen

Ice magic doesn't work if there's not enough moisture around
Thunder magic uses the thunder mage as a capacitor of sorts, so thunder mages need to learn how to manage their "battery" if they don't wanna be defenseless.
Oh, it recharges naturally but not fast enough to warrant energy wasting
Metal magic works a lot like FMA's alchemy, as in you need direct contact with the materials, and enough raw materials to make what you want to

Plant magic needs soil and seeds to even be usable in the first place, so certain environments are very tricky
And finally, air magic draws its "power" from the mages themselves, so breathing and moving quickly are basically the only means to cast spells, immobility is a death sentence
Here's the pros:

Fire magic is very powerful, so it's highly appreciated for demolition tasks and whatnot

Ice magic needs no input from the mage other than the though of the spell, so they're very hard to contain
Thunder magic gives a couple of natural advantages (mostly reaction time and others I haven't thought of yet)

Metal magic is only limited by it's user's imagination and raw materials, so you can really create anything given wnough metals to use.
Plant magic is the basis for alchemy, and the plants don't have to be pre-existing (you just need seeds), so you can have plant for any situation, be it healing or brewing potions

Finally, air magic is the most versatile out of all, because you can do lazy stuff and whatnot
There's also subtypes of magic and a special type but that's an intermission for you guys so here's a funny I found on the internet
The special type I talked about was draconic spells.

Essentially, dragons have their own tongue, and it is usable by humans, however the spells need to be pronounced perfectly in draconic, so getting them right requires a lot of linguistic skill
Obviously, humans don't have the same vocal cords as dragons, and speaking it in a tense situation is even harder, so most just bring a spell tome.

Draconic magic is sort of a miscellaneous type, not really falling into any other category
As for subtypes, they're closer to techniques than they are to their own magic type, as an example, poison magic can be performed by both plant and air mages, but the methods for practicing it are different between air and plant
That's gonna do it for today folks, random picture on my camera roll as an intermission marker
Next on the list are magic items.

Basically usables that give out bonuses.

Like, a Phoenix feather enhances fire magic, thunderbird feathers enhance thunder magic, and an Yggdrasil leaf would enhance plant magic.

You know the drill, lots more items I still haven't thought of:
Couple of clarifications:

Dragons aren't really the european class you see often (four legs, two wings and spit fire), at least not all of them.

Thunder magic's advantages include reaction times, combat speed and generally doing things faster.
That's it for today, tomorrow I'll try to come up with some draconic spells.

Ok so draconic is gonna be the reversed text or audio from different translations in different languages (I might invent some language but for now this'll have to do)
Obik : your standard defensive spell, turns the target's skin into a very tough substance (not iron) comparable to (wait for it) dragon scales

Spell's name comes from the Japanese for "scale" {skāl}
Ruectèlfer: a shield made from light that reflects any attacks, only reflects one instance of damage and would have a pretty significant cooldown to prevent it to being an invincible version of fox's shine

Comes from the French word for reflector
Aight, now for some offensive spells
Gnunnerbrev: a pure explosion, more powerful than your average fire mage's explosion, so it would be a pretty solid choice for your megumin clone you sad weeb

Comes from the German for combustion
Imanyd: run-of-the-mill berserker buff, not much to say

Comes from the Greek for strength (dynami)
That's all for now, sorry if these spells sound kinda generic, I'll make up better ones I promise

In defense of Intermission pics
I'd like to interrupt y'all to say that this thread is sponsored by dollar mage club

Get premium quality items to enhance your magic like Phoenix and thunderbird feathers, Kirin horn dust, and much more (we do not condone doping for magic tournaments)
So why not come over to dollar mage club ?

Well, if you click the link in the description, you get replacements for just five pathetic dollars a month !

So fuck you, give us money and get yourself high on dragon bone dust because now there's no way your wife is coming back
Sponsorship's over, back to your premium quality content
Couple more draconic spells
Napmis: this one brings down different human weapons depending on what type of person casts it.

A mostly good person brings down swords, but a bad person brings down spears

Comes from the Korean for judgement
Gungnir: this is one of the hardest spells, but the result is worth it

This is actually a summon, and it summons (wait for it) a dragon of the same name
Dragon's actually a very long wyvern and it will fight for whoever cast it

FYI: the only summons are in draconic
That's gonna do it for now, have to go to school

Intermission pic
There's gonna be 6 dragon summons (one for each magic type)

I tried to draw Gungnir (the thunder dragon from now on
Hol up I'm gonna come up with one other dragon before intermission
Ok so the metal dragon is called mjolnir (I promise you guys this is the last time I'm using Norse names for the dragons)as you would expect, he's the toughest one of the bunch.

Look, I know I draw like shit but this is the best I could do
And that's gonna do it for today lads

Please retweet this system I feel like I'm not going anywhere and I don't want to feel like I'm wasting everyone's time
Okay so next up are the ice and plant dragons (also I decided they're no longer summons, just lore pieces)
Wyrm:

This absolute fucking unit spends his time guarding his treasure and making sure no one but him gets their hands on it
Mordred:

Clearly a (wo)man of (agri)culture, she was kind enough to teach humans how to do druid shit and alchemy, sadly won't help her save her forest from humans
That's it for today

Next time you'll see the air and fire dragons

Intermission pic
Sorry if I didn't update the thread before guys, daddy's a little tired trying to draw the air dragon like 30 times over during chemistry class.

Also, I'm still gonna use Norse names.

Why ?

Because they kick ducking ass that's why
Behold the result of 30 attempts to draw basically cuculcán from smite

This wise guy decided to watch humans from above like some kind of god or something idk he thinks he's fully Mexican because 1/64 of him is
And Surtr: this guy just straight up doesn't like humans, mainly because they go and make experiments on his volcano and that's trespassing and he's gonna let you know
I promise I'll come up with more things, I just spent way too much time on jormungandr and gave up because I'd never draw him properly
