In my simplistic but fruitful metaphysics you and I are each ongoing expressions of the universe "giving its best shot" at being, limited by our respective environments in space-time. The more we can see that in each other, the more harmonious our interactions are likely to be.
So, having just learned (by testing) that a pinned tweet allows a thread to be built upon it (unsure why I thought otherwise), I'd like to develop those thoughts in this space. Feel free to join in.
1/ In that aforementioned world view, we all somehow manifest a "trace-back" to our source, that is, we are built from & thus carry with us some rudimental dynamics of whatever processes brought us to our present moments - better yet, to the world view we convey manifesting them.
2/ Early on in this discourse I need to share my propensity for trying to visualize - and, if possible, experience - [my] life processes via a radically different view of time from reductionist squeezing of time's famous arrow through a succession of tiny moments (frames per sec)
3/ If you've been involved with analysis of [necessarily temporal] events at any scale, you may know about Fourier analysis of "time domain" signals and the resulting set of discrete frequencies, typically displayed in spectral plots where the time axis is replaced by frequency.
4/ I'm most interested in exploring temporal structure from the point of view of the "frequency domain" - those spectral plots & their changes over time. (I once made my living creating & analyzing such plots to diagnose the "health" of rotating machinery for overhaul planning.)
5/ I'm beginning to feel surprisingly comfortable visualizing & defending my claim that we all "surf" moving waveforms of pure temporal structure, abstracted from whatever is going on in our lives, broken down into component "surfable" waveforms presented as navigational choices!
6/ This worldview gets much more interesting with the postulation that many of the waveforms at play in our conscious experience have periods (which at these large scales I prefer to call wavelengths, but measured in units of time) much larger than the length of a human lifetime.
7/ An extreme extension of thinking underlying this worldview is a creation story that has unitary consciousness (I-Am-ness), subdividing - out of sheer boredom/loneliness - into harmonics, gradually fragmenting into multiple, more local manifestations in timespace".

8/ (end first octave)
An eye-opening aspect of this portrayal of universe-created-by-[unitary-]consciousness is that the frequency domain view suggests that the first twitch - whatever you'd call a primordial subdivision - represents "the longest wave"/age of universe!

9/ From one stable perspective, you and I (our "selves") are [encodable/analyzable as nothing more or less than [math] processes].
Music simply, yet profoundly, demonstrates the experience [and potential] of extremely well-behaved (well-structured) processes. Surfing starts here
10/ In music, choruses or bridges encapsulate / carry shorter wave measures containing even shorter wave rhythm signatures, composed of individual chords (harmonizing several tones, even octaves. This invokes a top-down "frequency domain view" of temporality (temporal structure).
11/ "Silence is an ocean. Speech is a river. When the ocean is searching for you, don't walk into the river. Listen to the ocean." https://twitter.com/Rumi_Quote/status/1131481775836946432?s=19

Seems like as good a time and place as any to share my all time favorite poem:

"He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy
He who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sunrise"

-- "Eternity" by William Blake

So let's share a favorite song. Find your grooves❣️

First the original from 1969 musical "Sweet Charity" sung and danced by Sammy Davis Jr:

Next a piano + chorale version that lets you read the words:

Science-oriented as I am, I Iike to have a metric available to use for quantitative comparisons. For anything relating to feelings, I like "wavelength".
If anger or fear might be simulated by waves seen in stormy seas, "love" clocks in larger than the wavelengths of Tsunamis!
/15
If, conceptually, you lower the amplitude of a tsunami and extend its wavelength, you eventually align with the daily tidal cycles familiar to all who love the sea. Many may note states of peace and tranquility enabled by such extremely stable, "longwave" cyclical patterns.

Let's say Consciousness is singular & primary per E. Schroedinger.
Simulationists try to blame programmer vs accepting responsibility - as part of ground of being.

I've just posted to my blog some of my current thoughts & observations about our subjective experience of time. Starts with notes on my Twitter handle. Then how we may resize our "now" with help from a frequency domain view of our temporal experience: https://paradigmsshifted.wordpress.com
/18 Here's what I consider my most important page (11x17 print) on the poster I shared last night at the IONS conference. (My next tweet will zoom in on the bottom.)

I've finally charted a concept that's been haunting me for >40 years. Can we talk about consciousness living in the frequency domain, or better yet, coexisting between the experience of flow & one of nested windows, ever larger periods as we angle up & away from time's arrow?

Good place and time to retweet a commented retweet from 7 Sep: https://twitter.com/AkashicSurfer1/status/1170412080458940416?s=09

Rather than being a product of physical processes, Consciousness may manifest through those processes. Imagine a single giant eye ("I-am-ness") looking through gazillions of pinholes in spacetime, able to interact (see, & steer just a little) only at the scale of the pinhole!
