Pleased to discover cinematographer Victor J. Kemper is very much still alive and turning 92 next month. Films include 1975’s “Dog Day Afternoon”, 1979’s “The Jerk”, 1985’s “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure”...and his final film, 2006’s direct-to-DVD classic “Bring It On: All or Nothing”.
Other films from Kemper’s eclectic career include 1972’s “The Candidate”, 1977’s “Slap Shot”, 1992’s “Beethoven”, and 1995’s “Tommy Boy”.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Kemper was also cinematographer for 1991’s “F/X 2”, 1996’s “Eddie” *and* “Jingle All The Way”...as well as 2005’s “American Pie Presents: Band Camp”. What a legend.
And I would be doing a disservice to his legacy if I didn’t also mention Kemper’s work shooting 1983’s “Mr. Mom” *and* “National Lampoon’s Vacation”, 1985’s “Clue”, and 1989’s “See No Evil, Hear No Evil.” Seriously people, research your cinematographers!
