The only comic character that comes to mind who has been white washed is actually my favorite. Sunspot aka Roberto Da Costa. The Melanin God
Sunspot is my favorite cuz if I was a Mutant I'd want his powers. I called him the melanin god because he absorbs energy from the sun... giving him super strength, fight, project heat & blast & when fully powers up he goes... get black.
But anywho back to white washing... Sunspot`s powers 1st manifested during a racist attack in Rio while playing soccer boys from the opposing team jumped him.
Early sunspot was always comic brown... the same brown they used for storm, luke cage, tchalla, falcon ect... here he is then... this is him now
And these are the actors who played Sunspot in Days of Future Past & New Mutants... the character who got beat up for being afro latino by white latino`s causing his powers to manifest...
