It all started one night when I was on Skype with @Calebtrain in 2014 and he was showing me how to make sets with my little Bachmann Duck. What a hilarious but insightful night, I owe Caleb so much. He’s such a wonderful friend and no words can do him justice.
I think that night of modeling showed me I really loved the craft- here you will see an evolution of all my profile pics as the username: TwistedTom. 2014, 2015, and 2016 respectively.

Ahah, but then it was time for me to make a series. Here is the New Railway model of Thomas... gosh what a horrible cluster of bad ideas...
But y’know? Back in 2015, I was really “feeling it.” I liked New Railway. No joke, I would seriously like to bring it back with toned down humor and MUCH better looking models. I hate all my old work but New Railway means a lot to me actually.

Oh here’s an ole picture from December of 2015! Wow! Arry and Bert just came in the mail but my dad was plowing snow around the garage. The door was open and a gust of wind blew snow all over the layout, destroying it in the process. Poor guys didn’t even get to run on it
Back then, you may have known me for two reasons:
1.) I swore a lot
2.) my models were G A R B A G E.
This was taken in April of 2015, LBSC Thomas was “finished” and Skarloey was uh... idk, horrible looking?? My goodness... I hope my models don’t look like this anymore..

Oh but summer was rolling around and @Calebtrain had just released his James crash video and revealed that he made the James model for me... I still have it in my garage, untouched and sitting on a shelf... I sincerely appreciated this beautiful gift.

Everything was dismantled. I didn’t want to be TT anymore. I couldn’t carry that title. Some found it funny, but that title always reminded me of my faults and flops as a person and modeler. And so came a brand new layout from scratch...

And... shortly after, after rebranding and annoying many people by removing and reuploading videos, someone got into my account and reverted my name and then deleted everything.... and it was over... TwistedTom was officially and forever gone.
but honestly.. perhaps it happened for a reason. Because look at me now... I’m happy. I’m thriving. I take time with my models, I made friends with so many people and stopped trying to be an edge lord. I’m happy. I’m so, truthfully, absolutely happy...
People ask why I hate my old content. Guys, I made TT when I was 15. I was NOT doing okay back then. 2015 was the worst year of my entire life. I lost so many things and I was horribly depressed. When I watch those old videos- I get reminded of a horrible person I used to be-
- and what a horrible life I used to live. I can acknowledge that some people were inspired (somehow) by those old videos and they are the reasons they joined the fandom. But I simply never can see them like that. I was seriously in such a bad place back then
So when people still call me TT, and still associate me with those videos, I get genuinely hurt. I’m not TwistedTom. To me, he is a separate person and nothing he did is what I do now. It’s 2019. Jokes about religion, gender, and so on aren’t funny to me. I grew up.
It’s 2019 now. Since 2017, I have been thomasdotd. I’m about to outlive my reign as TT and I think it’s time we all move on. But y’know? I love you all. I seriously love you all. To the people who chose to support me after how I used to be- I want to cry with happiness
I seriously would not be making content if it wasn’t for you. This community sure has its issues but y’know, I have never felt more welcomed anywhere. I love you all, you all rock and inspire me every single day.
