I have finally started Breath of the Wild.

I’ve finished two shrines.

And I’ve already run down the battery on the Switch.

I think this might be a good game, you guys
I like Hestu very much. #ZeldaBOTW
More thoughts on #ZeldaBOTW: Generally enjoying myself still, but everything’s so FUCKING far away. The fast travel helps, but often I feel like I’m playing 2-3 hours at a time without actually accomplishing anything.
I don’t play many open-world games for basically this reason. Breath of the Wild feels so big you could play it forever and never see everything.
It’s why I tend to gravitate towards smaller, more linear games: the kind of thing I can play for an hour or two and feel a sense of accomplishment, or at least amusement. After two hours in BOTW, the most I do is beat a few shrines, maybe increase my hearts or stamina.
I bust up some moblin camps along the way too, but that’s undone regularly by the blood moon, so it doesn’t feel like a meaningful accomplishment.
As a dad w/a FT job, a Switch only, and limited spending $—I typically don’t play “big hot” games unless they’re indies for a fraction of the usual price, or they’re a little older.

All that to say: I got WAY back into Breath of the Wild. Played for basically my entire weekend.
I& #39;ll echo what I said earlier in this thread: it& #39;s such a gigantic game, with so much to do, it feels like you could play it *almost* literally forever & never see everything. Layers upon layers of quests, side quests, and aimless jaunts that usually yield some small reward.
The controls were, uh, a little overwhelming to go back to. Certainly more to keep in mind than your typical Zelda game. I& #39;m getting better at it again, but I& #39;m still constantly bringing up my weapons menu when I want my relics menu, and vice-versa.
