[Thread] The different meanings of ahre, a thread for my confused and non-argentinian mutuals ahre
Ahre is an argentinian slang, it has lots of meanings and it can be used in many ways. In this thread I’m gonna explain them all or at least the ones I use so my mutuals can finally understand what I mean by “ahre”

There are also many ways of typing ahre: ahre, ahr, ahrre, arre, arhe, etc. The most commons are “ahre” and “ahr” tho.
The only definition available in the urban dictionary is this one and it’s not /exactly/ wrong but it has more meanings than only these ones
1. It can be used not to sound too distant with the person you’re talking to. When you don’t want someone to feel like there’s something wrong between you two you might add “ahre” to make it sound more friendly. There’s also the possibility of using it because you’re used to it.
2. To let people know what you’re saying must not be taken seriously. If you’re constantly saying stuff that might not sound like a joke just add an “ahre” at the end of your sentence, this way people will understand whether you’re joking or not. My case hehe cc: @AlexandersStele
3. When you snap/say something that might be hurtful but you don’t want the other person to take it that bad. If you’re telling someone a /hard/ truth you could use an “ahre” so they know you don’t mean to hurt them with it. +
+ if you use “ahre ysi” its when you say something as a joke but it’s actually true. ex: “your boyfriend is cheating on you ahre ysi”.
4. When you make a possibly offensive joke. In this case people usually type it in caps because they know how wild what they said is. It can be used for things that maybe are out of place or way too “wild”.
5. When you don’t relate with what someone thinks/says or you think it’s a lie. It’s usually typed like “ahre” “ahreeee” or “AHRE” and it’s usually said/typed right after that /thing/ someone said.
6. When someone exagerates and you can’t stand them. We usually make this face too (it also applies for n°5)
There some other meanings too but these are the most used. I know there are many of them but it all depends on the context it’s used. That’s why I tried to add as many examples as possible, even if they’re in Spanish.
