Brandy Rayana Norwood was born On February 11th, 1979 In McComb, Mississippi.
Under the mentoring of her father, William Norwood, Brandy took inspiration from Whitney Houston, Kim Burrell and Enya for her vocal stylings.
Brandy, Under the guidance of her father, would go on to sing in church, talent shows and with a singing group while still discovering the depths of her own voice.
Brandy earned a role on the Sitcom "Thea", while in the midst of signing with Atlantic Records and recording her debut album.
Brandy began showcasing her vocals on "Thea", which received a cancellation days before her first album was expected to be released.
"Brandy" was released in September of 1994. The album spawned 4 singles & earned Two Grammy nominations.
"I Wanna Be Down", "Baby", "Best Friend" and "Brokenhearted" were all received with praise of Brandy's vocal runs and uniqie phrasing.

Brandy, who personally thanked Whitney Houston (her biggest inspiration) on her debut album finally got the chance to meet her in 1995.
After the success of her singles and album, Brandy teamed up with Babyface for "Sitting Up In My Room" which was recorded in 1995 for the Waiting To Exhale Soundtrack.

In 1997, Brandy becomes the first black woman to become "Cinderella", alongside her Biggest inspiration, Whitney Houston.

Brandy teams up with Rodney Jerkins & The Darkchild team for her second album. In 1998, Brandy releases "Never Say Never" which aimed for a more mature R&B sound.
"Never Say Never" spawned "The Boy Is Mine", "Top of The World" , "Have You Ever" and "Almost Doesn't Count".
The Boy Is Mine, 1998. The song won a Grammy for best R&B performance by a duo/group and also Earned a #1 spot on the charts.

"Have You Ever", 1998. It became Brandy's second #1 single and her signature song.
"Almost Doesn't Count", 1999.
"Almost Doesn't Count" is such a heartfelt song. Brandy has always expressed her love for this particular song on "Never Say Never".
Brandy was directly involved with the creation of "Never Say Never". The album helped her find her own sound, vocally & sonically, and established her into an R&B Force.
In 1999, Brandy teams up with Diana Ross for "Double Platinum".
Brandy returned to music with the release of "Full Moon", with the production of Rodney Jerkins & The Darkchild team. The album includes vocals from Michael Jackson & Ray J.
"Full Moon" spawned 3 singles.
"What About Us", 2002.

"He Is" didn't receive a video, but it was praised by Critics for Brandy's vocal performance.
Brandy pushed her voice to its limits with the creation of "Full Moon". She created a body of work that would influence a generation of singers, which led Stacy Barthe to title her "The Vocal Bible".
