Since we're on the subject this of cultural racism this godawful week...

I sure would appreciate the Blackhawks, Redskins and Indians changing their names... or at the very least for their fans to stop dressing up in redface.
And the Braves and Chiefs can keep their names, I suppose... but you gotta stop encouraging the racism with the tomahawk chop bullshit.
The Golden State (nee Philadelphia) Warriors used to have some absurdly racist logos of Native Americans. Thankfully, they unlinked "Warrior" from Native American caricature over 50 years ago.

Braves and Chiefs oughta do the same. Or, failing that, change their names.
Legit, 60 years ago, the Warriors were like "that grinning Indian dribbling the basketball might be racist"

Then 50 years ago, they were like "Even the headdress might be too racist and disrespectful."

The hell taking these other teams so long?
Honestly, the Chicago Blackhawks name is most offensive.

Black Hawk was a real person whose land was stolen and was taken prisoner by the US. He was then paraded (mascotted, if you will) through white crowds in East Coast cities in the 1830s eager to see a real live Indian
So after stealing the man's land - and the land of his tribe the Sauk - white people in Illinois and Iowa just started having all kinds of fun naming things after the humiliated chief, including helicopters and a hockey team for some dumb ass reason.
Well, before he died in 1838, 70-year-old Black Hawk hoped for respect and peace between whites and Natives. He gave a speech where he pleaded with white people to treat his ancestral home well.

Don't think that hockey team is getting the job done.
