Hello! Alternate-reality Zedeck here. As some of you may know, for the last year or so I& #39;ve been working on a medieval fantasy epic drawn from the cultures and myths of the Far West, tentatively titled A TALE OF PALE ALE: 1/?
Listen: beyond the edge of most good maps lies fabled, mysterious Angleland- where the winter chills are interminable, and folk huddle in steepled inns, sipping mulled wine from toby jugs ... 2/?
To the inn comes noble scion Jimmeaux the Kid, armed only with his axe, powdered codpiece, and an impeccable sense of honour ... 3/?
The night is rowdy, and soon there is the traditional brawl. Afterwards Jimmeaux strikes up an unlikely friendship with the caber-tossing, pith-helm-wearing savage, Peter von McCreed ... 4/?
Who agrees to accompany our hero on his quest to save the princess Tsarianna Bijou- tiny as a fourteen-year-old, tresses as long as a menhir is tall, so delicate she might die in a breeze ... 5/?
From the clutches of the evil Konradius Cassius, a goateed _earl_ (or local prince) and blood-drinking corporeal ghost obsessed with crossing rivers ... 6/?
Along the way our brave pair must face many perils: wolves that transform into sparkling boys; _spartans_ (an order of red-cloak-wearing nude warriors); and Angleland& #39;s unique breed of dragon: bestial winged lizards that breathe fire and lay golden eggs. 7/?
