Diane Charlemagne, lead singer with Urban Cookie Collective. Biggest hit: The Key: The Secret, No2 in 1993. She died in 2015, age 51.
Puff Johnson. Biggest hit: Over & Over, No20 in 1996, from the movie The First Wives Club. She died in 2013, age 40.
Frances Nero. A long career since the 60s but her only UK hit was Footsteps Following Me which reached No17 in 1991. She died in 2014, age 71.
Melanie Thornton, lead singer with La Bouche. They had a worldwide hit with Be My Lover in the mid 90s, although it only got to No25 in the UK. She died in a plane crash in 2001, age 34.
Charles Pettigrew, one half of Charles & Eddie. Biggest hit: Would I Lie To You, No1 in 1992. He died in 2001, age 37.
Rich Cronin, lead singer and songwriter with LFO. Biggest hit: Girl On TV, No6 in 1999. He died in 2010, aged 36.
Chris Kelly (left) one half of Kris Kross. Biggest hit: Jump, No2 in 1992. He died in 2013, aged 34.
Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, one third of TLC. Biggest hit: No Scrubs, No3 in 1999. She died in 2002 in a car crash, aged 30.
Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana. Best remembered for the album Nevermind and its iconic lead single Smells Like Teen Spirit. He died in 1994, aged 27.
Delores O’Riordan, lead singer of The Cranberries. Biggest hit: Linger, No.11 in 1994. She died in 2018, aged 46.
Guru Josh, biggest hit: Infinity, No5 in 1990 (and No3 for a remix in 2008). He died in 2015, aged 51.
Pauly Fuemana, lead singer with OMC, best known for the 1996 worldwide hit ‘How Bizarre’ which reached No5 in the UK. He died in 2010, aged 40.
Keith Flint from The Prodigy. A string of hits across the 90s, probably best remembered for the iconic No1 hit Firestarter. He died in 2019, aged 49.
Kim English, best remembered for Nite Life, a huge club hit which was a top 40 hit twice in the mid 90s. She died in 2019, aged 48.
Charmayne Maxena "Maxee" Maxwell, 1/3 of Brownstone, R&B trio best known for the mid 90s hit ‘If You Love Me’. She died in 2015 age 46 after a fall.
Chrissy Amphlett, lead singer with the Divinyls, best know for the 1991 No7 hit ‘I Touch Myself’. She died of breast cancer in 2013, age 53.
Marie Fredriksson, singer with Roxette. A string of worldwide hits in the early 90s, probably best known for It Must Have Been Love from Pretty Woman. She died in 2019, age 61.
Little known fact - It Must Have Been Love was originally recorded as a Christmas song in 1986, they recorded new vocals for it 4 years later when it was used for Pretty Woman.
Lynden David Hall. Probably best know for the No17 hit ‘Sexy Cinderella’ in 1998. He died of Cancer aged just 31 in 2006.
Rita MacNeil. She had the No11 hit ‘Working Man’ in 1990. She died of ‘surgical complications’ in 2013, age 68.
