The intent to wait till marriage is what determines marital stability. Virgins who do not intend on waiting till marriage but are virgins at marriage also have similar divorce rates than those that commit adultery.

Children of single-parents preform academically worse than those of intact families. Single parents are less involved in child's education. Single mothers lack financial support and single fathers lack parenting resources.
